This is a Statsbomb radar from earlier this year. It's very good albeit in the Turkish league. Apparently, Trabzonspor rode on Sorloth's back for the entire season.

Probably that's why Leipzig are after him. They've shifted their scouting recently (cause Rangnick left) and they're buying undervalued talent from lesser leagues, even if they're older than their usual targets. Case in point: Dani Olmo.

Leipzig knows where the value is. Even in covid times, strikers are worth a lot. Someone that scores for fun with good underlying numbers in the Turkish league, can replicate at least some of that output in the Bundesliga.

Problem is, we're in a much stronger league and with Mourinho, we're not gonna be as progressive as Leipzig are.

I remember him from Palace and of course he wasn't very good, but if I recall correctly, he was playing on the wing with Benteke up front. This was destined to be a flop.

Even this guys YouTube videos are uninspiring. I have always supported Levy through thick and thin but if this is the only striker we end up with at the end of the window, I will genuinely lose faith.

I remember drafting him for Fantrax when he moved to Palace, coz he looked like he could do a job. He obviously ended up not and he certainly doesn't fill me with excitement, but I wouldn't write him off completely.

For me he looks like a Llorente that can run and dribble. Not a bad player if we consider him as a Kane back-up/ Plan b when losing. But I don't understand why CP would put a Llorente as a wide player....

He was also linked with United and Madrid not long ago, he must have something about him. I think he looks better than Vinicius tbh.

Judging him on his time at Palace is a bit silly. He wasn’t given an actual chance by Hodgson, who prioritised functional players rather than attempting to bring through talented ones - as an example, Townsend still plays for them. He started about 5 games, while they were utter shit.

Iirc, he was seen as a pretty decent prospect before they bought him - if he’s started to kick on and realise his potential, I actually think he could be pretty good. Plus it might mean we can sign Reguilon ?

Really? I mean he couldn't make it at Palace, Crystal fucking Palace ...

Fuck off Spurs.
I posted this yesterday after the result and it makes me look like a mug (nothing new there then) but if I guess if it comes to fruition and we sign him I might as well climb down off my high horse and accept it.

Time will tell.

Anyone watching our game yesterday think, what this game needs is Sorloth off the bench. No me either :(

Obviously Hodgson didn't rate him either. Didn't a goalless Benteke for 30 odd games keep this guy out of the side? Or have i got the timelines wrong?
