they must either have the worst cameramen or their cameras just can't zoom out.

I've watched 3 games on their channel this season and the touchline side of where the camera is never seen. thank god I don't pay for this shit coverage and really hope they don't ever replace BT or Sky

Maybe I'm being kind and/or optimistic but it's early days for them. I would like them to offer an alternative as the more competition that there is for TV rights, the better for everyone.

That sounds good I'm theory but has BT coming into it really benefited fans price-wise? Is Sky Sports now cheaper because they don't have some of the games? Even if it was, I bet the price of Sky Sports + BT Sports would be more than just SS alone.

Having Amazon as well will just mean everyone has to pay 3 times to watch not even all of our games. Ita rodoculous

I just feel like it's early days and it might improve over time. I'm not going all out for Amazon (who ironically from the point of view of my argument don't have nearly enough competition) but Prime isn't a bad deal anyway - especially with a few games thrown in. When I said 'everyone' I was also including the clubs themselves as the more providers vying for TV rights, the better.

Their HD quality is rubbish compared to Sky and BT, it looks really grainy.

My bugbear is the recent coverage of our games on sky, this has only been the last few games .Whoever is responsible for the camera angles (editor?) needs sacked. The amount of replays and player close ups are shocking and you miss a large proportion of the live action,BT are far better at balancing this out.

Competition would only be good if it benefited the consumer, but it doesn't. It's just who pays the most, that gets passed onto us.

At least they've not got fucking Jamie Redknapp or Sourness as their so called 'pundits'...

Also, no Merson, Pinocchio, Charlie fucking Nicholas and most of all, that shit wank 'commentator', Martin Tyler, who ranges from disappointed to disgusted whenever we score in a match he's commentating on.

All wankers IMO.

I watched the Palace v Newcastle game the other Friday and their camera couldn't even focus in on Newcastle's 1st goal, and only a slight improvement on the 2nd. the near side of the pitch is invisible

Our first goal against city ,they didn't show the build up (where showing a reply of something else over and over) they just cut to sonny bearing down on goal, had to wait for the replay to see it unfold, really poor imo.

The video quality is a bit on the grainy side for replays and close-ups but they have added some really good innovation with the timeline element.

Started on the Liverpool game in second half (after binging all post game analysis of our match) and could select the ‘timeline’ which showed instant relays of key moments in the game so far. Really positive and great to see new ideas and features being brought into the coverage.

Think the rest will improve over time if/when they increase their investment.

what a bonus we saw Son put the ball in the net, wasn't till I saw clips on SSN that I saw the goal Wilson scored. all it got was the commentator and fake noise to tell me Newcastle had scored, I might as well listened to it on the radio

Your logic only works if multiple providers were showing the same games. If you can watch the same thing on BT or Sky then obviously people are going to pick the cheaper one so that would drive down the price. But as they each buy exclusive rights to the various matches, that doesn't work

Instead, more companies bidding for the games just drives up the price like an auction, and that cost gets passed on to the customers i.e. us. Then, on order to watch all of the games, you have to subscribe to every single provider so the more of them there are the more expensive it is.

On top of that, I reckon if Amazon get regular games then it's also a matter of time before they start having some of the big ticket matches as PPV only.

What we have isn’t competition, If you want to watch all our games, you have to subscribe to three different suppliers. It’s effectively three monopolies.

Yes, the last paragraph is a possibility. Whilst it is part of a package that a lot of people own though, it is a decent enough extra.

I think they use the same people as BT so the actual coverage should be the same. I'll try and actually pay attention during the next game.

Most games have a head producer from the rights holder in question and as Amazon probably only employ freelancers for these gigs chances are they hire a BT or Sky producer for the game. The vast majority of the TV crew will be hired by Premier League Productions, either fixed or freelancers.

People act like the broadcasters have some way of deciding how a match is filmed but really they have very little input. It makes me laugh/cry when people here in Norway complain to us in TV 2 about how a match is produced, as if we in a far away land have any control over that whatsoever. We do studio work, the match itself is just a feed that is sent to us and we put commentary on. The same goes for NBC, BEIN or any other big broadcaster.

Piss off Marty it's all your fault.
