That's crazy money for him

Depends how you look at it. £35m for an attacking midfielder with 1 seasons experience and a poor goals and assists return then yes it’s crazy money.

£35m for someone with EPL experience and the skill set to become a very good wing back and the potential to play further forward then yes the price is potentially justifiable.

It’s a very similar fee to what we paid for Sessegnon. For me Gordon has the attributes to be converted into a wing back. He’s strong, tall, quick, runs all day and is dangerous when going forward. Gordon + Spence and we would be set at RWB for the next 10 years.

Its a risk but he could be worth way more in future. I mean 35m for a young prospect now is not that bad. He's homegrown too so a good move for Newcastle. Whether Everton would accept is another matter. If they do I would like us to jump on it provided we have signed a ccb, lcb and rwb and have the funds left over.

Interesting that Newcastle are going for him as well. Makes me think that they have been encouraged to do so by Gordon's people due to Everton's financial situation.

WLB did say that Gordon wants to come to us but he won't rock the boat at Everton due to being one of their own.

Feels like this might be one to watch for us seeing as he keeps getting linked with a move.

Is his agent punting him around? Seems to be a few clubs who like him…….or maybe it’s the classic, he signs a new deal at Everton links.

New deal as in lets turn a 20m valued young player into a 5 year tied up potential international star of the future that will cost you 50m if you want him enough

Look at what he's wearing arriving for the first day's training.

You'd think he could afford a proper pair of strides and not something hastily stitched together by the old ladies at the Merseyside Quilters and Haberdashery club. I bet they maced him for a grand for those as well.

Met up with my Evertonian brother in law yesterday and he's convinced Gordon is signing a new contract. That's opinion but one thing for certain, if he's anything to go by, is that they'll riot if he gets sold.
