The fact they only scored from an OG and a pen makes this sort of feels like a missed opportunity. Wild that.
Had we had a player similar to Maddison to bring on, I think we would have taken it.

You can see Solomon is a little way off the big games. Richarlison isn't good enough to do stuff alone so didn't really have the support cast late on

I still don't understand why people are heavily backing Arsenal to win the league tho, they don't look it at all.

This is so positive. I think how well we do this year is really just going to depend on injuries to key players, not just Madison, but our full backs, Bissouma, Son.

First 11 looking superb but looks like the depth may struggle to play the style we want.

If we’d paid £80m for Van de Ven I’d say it looks a fair price at this stage. So accomplished for a young man.
Was about to mention VDV. He has settled in extremely well and really quickly. What a steal if he was in fact the cheap option.

We've got to be happy with that. Defended like lions against all those set pieces, still looked dangerous on the break and could have won it at the death. Son and Maddison - and Vicario - were immense

I think they can count themselves lucky. They should have had a red with Nketiah, the “penalty” wasn’t really a penalty. They huffed and puffed in the first 35 and had a lot of help with the ref booking key players for us, preventing us from being a bit more aggressive.

The lads played well, kept going which is all we can ask for. We get to go into Liverpool with positives. VDV looked good btw.

I could pick any number of players to highlight after that - lots of really good performances.

but man, I love Pedro Porro. the guy has been reinvented in this role. and he can definitely defend by the way.

We played the better football too.
Stopped a bit when Maddison and Son went off but some of Biss's between the lines play is next level, he Saar and Udogie (who after the booking barely gave Saka a sniff) are so calm on the ball.

Also thought Porro, Romero and Mickey were awesome.

Miles behind City.

They are bringing Reis Nelson on and still starting Nketiah.

Also thought Raya looked a little shaky with the ball

That game was very reminiscent to the Brentford game, own goal & a pen against us.

We’ve done very well given the circumstances.
