Misguided's my middle name buddy. I just don't see them doing much in all honesty. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something that screams they'll be no marks.
Typical sunny day, everyone refreshed and feeling optimitis, nice relaxed atmosphere against opposition that aren't going to throw up to many scenarios where your mentality is tested. And they pass with flying colours.

As the season wears on, problems arise, tiredness creeps in, stress levels rise and the pressure heaps up. That's when Arsenal fall.

Jesus is a very good player. Watched his rise at Palmeiras and genuinely thought Brazil had a number 9 who could get to levels they've not really had since Adriano. Brazil had had some shocking 9s prior to that (Leandro, Jo, Fred), so I was certainly hoping he'd buck that trend.

However, and whilst he has been far from a disaster, he hasn't really reached that level. Not just at City, but for the Seleção also.

Which leads to 2 thoughts. Either he simply hasn't been as good as first thought and can't reach the level expected or Pep coached a lot of his good traits out of him and he's lost some confidence whilst being there.

We will find out this season I feel.
Apart from last season (when Aubameyang got the boot) they have always had good strikers... I'm sure Jesus will score his goals... but It doesn't cover up their usual problems under Arteta.

They’re going to start off on fire lads. Accept it and put a few in your dream teams to take advantage of the early season points.
As others have said, it’s a long season and time will really tell how good they really are but they definitely look to have improved. Fair play to them. I still can’t see many of their players getting into our squad though…

spot on. They are definition of a pre season team with bit of sun on their back. When the grind sets in they will fall apart as usual.

The key will be how Arteta rotates with Europe back in the equation. He now has a squad of players he trusts, and he’s been backed to the hilt. They fell apart last season because they didn’t have the depth to deal with injuries.

No CL this season, and they’ve failed.

I’m actually bit worried. Sorry but it’s true. They will have learned from that failure last season and it will sting bitterly. They have added quality and their team is that little bit older.

It's sad that we struggled against Sevilla and spent the game being kicked around the pitch. Meanwhile Arsenal completely dominate them.

Yeah Arsenal are gonna be good this season, can't see much potential for them to collapse. Good players all pulling in the same direction.

Gotta hope for some injuries and Europa league drags them down as it does to many other clubs with the weight of Thursday to Sunday football.

Times like this I miss the 'doh' button.

It's PRE-season fella, chill out. Nothing to be sad over. We're in good hands xx

In 2006, we had a great preseason, Bolton had a terrible one.

13 minutes into our first game of the season they’d seen us off 2-0.

Smart use of a preseason may be better than the results…

lets see how they get on first game away to palace on a Friday night. The home atmosphere will be incredible and hopefully gooners will come away with 0 points and demoralised.

I know what he means to be fair. There were times like year that they looked great. They seem to be in a better place this year.

Bot saying we’re not, but early indications suggest they’ll be a threat this year

Nothing to be sad over mate. If you're going into this season worrying about Arsenal, then I can't help you.

We're looking the best we have done in years going into a season. Management, recruitment, general feel about the club.

If you can't be excited by this, then maybe you're watching the wrong sport or you need to seek other hobbies.

That doesn't mean I don't think they've improved, they obviously have, and I think they'll do well. But I think we'll do better, and no one should let another football team make you sad, Spurs do that to us enough as it is ? xx

I’m with you totally. I’m very excited.
I’d just rather they were rubbish as well as us being good!

We have problems too... If we didn't then I wouldn't be slightly concerned by them.

We have problems but some are downplaying them and perhaps rightly so but my view is, they can be costly.

Big test for them, they lost that badly last season, Arteta won't want that happening again.

If they go there and put in a performance and get the win, they could start off this season flying with the easy fixture run they have and firepower they have clicking.

Lets hope Vieria does a job on them again but Palace will be a lot weaker without Gallagher this season and Arsenal have improved a lot.

We shall see...

Didnt we hammer Inter 5 or 6 nil in pre-season once?

Arsenal have played a lot of games over preseason and they started early than most (a few days before us).

Considering Arteta is very focused on a specific system, it could simply be that they've prioritised that and played a lot, so they look sharper.

When other factors come into play, it's a different story.

I've always found that teams who have a mixed preseason tend to do better, in comparison to teams who have had a brilliant preseason. Simply because they've not been challenged enough and it's been a bit too 'easy'. Or, issues that may be there have not really been highlighted, so you get 5 games in and you are trying to solve issues out that you didn't see in pre-season. Whereas a team who encountered difficulty in preseason, is able to identify and correct these issues before the season is running.

They are a potential threat same as West Ham and Chelski though they are no more than that. Let's not forget how we took 4th spot last year when many had written it off. They lacked leadership last year on the pitch and they have not done much to address that
