yea i noticed teh arteta tocuhline. Its such an easy decision for the ref to see as there is a god damb white box painted on the grass

There squad depth i think will hold them back, there bench is lacking much and Party is injury prone.

but it's a crazy year the longer they can hang in like us as Liverpool are a bit sh!t, and City keep dropping points.

Be great to pip them at the end of the season and win the league but I'm not that deluded if we can finish top 2 or 3 above arsenal that would be a massive achievement.

But to suggest it'll be because they'll be deeper into the Europa League/Injuries/fatigue, as if no other club is going to have those problems as well is quite daft.

I don't think it's daft at all when talking about it in the context of a title race. City have proven they can juggle a European campaign, go deep in domestic cup competitions and amass 90 plus points season in season out.

After ten games last year Chelsea were 5 points clear of City with a GD of plus 23. West Ham were in fourth with people talking about them being favourites for the last champions leave spot. Arsenal have started very well and are clearly a better side than last season but it's far too early to start worrying about them being champions.

Their form at the moment is title winning form but it’s 10 games in and there’s a reason why people don’t really pay proper attention to the top half of the table until Xmas.

I’ll be shitting the bed if come the WC they’re top or in and amongst it but until then I’m not too worried. They look better obviously but at least they looked very beatable yesterday against an average team away from home so I don’t think it’s anything to get our knickers in a twist just yet.

As has been said, Europa, injuries and their away form could all come into play. Fucking annoying seeing them get lucky but that won’t last all season.

Saliba, the world's best CB is one booking away from his first ban of the season. Fingers crossed he escapes the Saints game without a yellow as if he gets it v Forest he misses Chelsea away.

Gabriel should have been sent off yesterday regardless of the penalty decision, they would really have been in the shit without those two.

You’re 100% correct, as soon as people start praising Arsenal it seems people think you’re obsessed and love them, it’s odd.

If you read the match threads or even the Conte thread, and compared that to some of the comments on this thread you might question which team we support to be fair. There’s been so much negativity in many of the Spurs threads and yet we’re only 4 points behind…

Don't get me wrong, I don't think they'll be winning the league at all, but it just seems naive to dismiss the excellent start they've had based on stuff that may or mat not happen im the future.(not aimed at yourself, just in general).

If anyone is going to challenge City then they have as good a chance as anyone to me, and we ourselves have to believe that we can challenege as well as otherwise, what's the point??

The comments in here on them are the exact comments we'd be posting in the 'what our fans are saying about us' thread while calling other fans idiots and knowing nothing about football ?

They're having a great season so far, same as us. 9 wins out of 10 is a great start for anyone and i don't think anybody expected that no matter how much you tell yourselfs that.

Will they keep the form up? Possibly and hopefully not. But to suggest it'll be because they'll be deeper into the Europa League/Injuries/fatigue, as if no other club is going to have those problems as well is quite daft. I realise I'll be called an arse licker or whatever but I'm just calling it as I see it at the moment. I hate them as much as anyone but my hatred doesn't make me blind.
Great post. Ultimately, some people's prejudice colors their thinking so much that they can't be objective. it's not that they might objectively disagree with your opinion and argue from that point. it's as if anything Arsenal does can't be good.

One would have expected them to drop a few more than they have but they haven't. So while the club and a significant percentage of their fans are detestable, it's crazy to say that they haven't done well. At the same time, it's a long season with quite a few games to play with a pretty thin bench. It's equally crazy to say where they'll finish, etc.

Daft to think European football, injuries and fatigue won’t play an absolutely huge part in what happens to the scum this season!!

They are no longer playing once a week, like last season and it will bite them in the ass later on down the line

Ha, Artera did that in the Liverpool game.

One of their players was breaking down the left on the counter attack and Arteta sprinted right up to the touchline and screamed at the lad while throwing his arms around - presumably an attempt to put them off?! Bizarre but also kind of hilarious.

Pretty sure he did the same to one of the Norwegian lads while they were taking a throw in in the EL too. ??‍♂️

I'm not saying it won't play a huge part, I'm saying they're not the only team that will have to deal with it. They also have less players going to the world cup or potentially starting matches than the other big 6 clubs.

At the end of the day, I really do wish they implode at some point and drop down the table and do everyone in here a favour but I'm also not biased as to what I'm seeing from them and can judge them on so far up to this point.

I obviously hope I’m wrong but I just can’t see them burning out because they have EL footy not CL so will play 2nd string line ups in that.

I think EL start to take it's toll towards the end of the season rather than the beginning. Most PL can afford to take some liberties in the group stages with both their line ups and in their preparation of the opposition however that starts to change once the knock out stages begin. Also PL teams are far more likely top go deeper in the EL due to the level of the opposition and with harder games, the impact of the Thursday/Sunday schedule becomes more prevalent.

They've also had two easy openers to their European campaign, had a game postponed and just delivered probably their worst PL performance this season on the back of their first real test in Europe. They've now got two games against PSV coming up and will want to get top spot to avoid a play off against a CL team.

Agree 100% although I feel we can get better whereas they are at their best.

I noticed they did this when they scored their first against us at their place. Looked to me like some faux ‘togetherness’ huddle to intimidate or impress upon the opposition how serious they are taking things. Led by that prick Xhaka

Conti is always outside his tech area. The lino has to move him as side when passing.
