this just feels like such a non article. Is on the verge of signing, after going to watch his game tonight he will decide. IDK hahahha, but tbf could be a super reliable journalist. I do hope we sign this guy, looks like an absolute monster.

Local news denying it and saying he’s looking likely to sign his professional contract

I also saw that the contract we are offering him dwarfs their offer so he is being pressured to sign with us.

I guess it depends on how he sees his future.

I know we're not signing him but seems like Paratici is quickly cottoning on to HG talent from the lower leagues.

Watched a dodgy stream of Reading Vs Blackburn to see Philiphs play. Rovers lost 0-3 away but none of the goals his fault.

First of all, he is a massive unit. He covers box in like 5 steps. For someone who just turned 17 , 2 months back, he looks ready for Championship. He held up against their striker. Passed well, came out with the ball once of twice well. In Blackburn attacking set piece he was definitely a threat.

Rovers best chance of game came through him. In one of the set pieces, he was able to swivel & turn in 1 motion and took a volley/shot - Keeper tipped it over - otherwise was going in. Rovers next best chance also came from the resulting corner, when he reacted first for a ball inside box , & was tripped. Well, the ref saw it & didint give a blatant penalty - game should have gone 1-1

He got tired in the end and was subbed at 90. He can play at this level but may lack stamina to go through a season.

Overall, I was extremely impressed from what I saw. IMO, if there is a chance we should buy him & loan out for 2 seasons. Once he hits 20, this lad will turn heads big time.

A youngster would surely be tempted by a far better contract offer from a top premier League club but then a youngster who knows how good he is might well prefer to stay and play knowing the big boys will still want him in a couple of years time, I think I would.
