Got to think about keeping the energy up. Johnson for Werner are similar subs and will give Villas defence a run all game. No such thing as a first XI these days, everyone will see good gametime.
Although would you prefer to have Brennan or Timo with a big chance to win it in the 95th minute? I'd've kept Johnson on th bench today for that reason.

Yes - it's so important that we can go full tilt for the full 90 minutes. We finally have a bench where we can bring in quality subs - everyone will have a chance to contribute - and if we are to get a result - we need everyone to contribute whenever they are on the pitch.

Cash starting probably has an element of mind games. Hope we don't fall for it, the guy is shit so get revenge by playing through him.

Maybe yeah, but be a bit perplexed if Johnson is on the left, all his better perfornances have been on the right.

Strange to upset the balance.

Yeah I definitely think he's better on the right, but at the same time I don't think there's a great deal of difference between him and Werner on the left, in terms of what they're both capable of. You still have a lot of speed, but also a player wanting to cut in and not being great with their left foot. I would probably say Johnson looks a little bit more comfortable crossing with his left though, but it's not something that either excel in. Same with their shooting really.

Although sorry just to add, one thing I will say with Werner is that I think you could argue that he's shown more willingness to take on his man around the outside on the left, so I guess that's something you could argue in his favour!

Johnson deserved a start but not sure Werner deserved to be dropped while Kulusevski continues on the right, Johnson’s best position, and continues to refuse to put a first time cross with his right foot!

Was trying to make the point for months that Skipp wasn't going to be near the starting eleven when our midfield injury crisis ended.

Not as a dig at Skipp, but a reason that we should happy to have him as a squad player.

It is between him and Höjberg as Sarr, Bissouma and Bentancur are level above and Lo Celso offers something different. Höjberg is currently favoured out of two.

Was super confident about this game, but Villa playing 5 at the back has me second guessing myself.

50/50 game now in my book.

Villa having the extra LCB will crowd out Udogie’s underlapping runs.

Think this is going to be a very important game for Porro, going to need one of his long cross field through balls to get Johnson in behind.
