Said this a while back. Some man alright. I've not been looking forward to a season as much in years. I do think we've got a stronger squad than both Arsenal and Man Utd now.

Totally agree. He's a smooth operator alright and just having someone dedicated to getting players in has given us a clear edge over our rivals. Viva Franco!

I'll give Franco the benefit of the doubt for the moment.
He had no say in appointing AVB. He was Levy's choice. I'm banking that he would have advised Levy on LVG, and i'm expecting him to take charge for next season.
On the magnificent 7 - I still think there are 7 great players in there somewhere, just needs a good manager to get the best out of them. The 2 that have been in charge of them have been dimwits in all honesty.
If LVG comes, and indeed does get the best out of them, then the other clubs better watch out.

Him and Sherwood can fight for the title of the Spurs Chosen One/Football Genius.

I don't know how well we can judge Baldini so far

How many of our summer signings were his recommendations?

Obviously Lamela would seem to be one - most if not all the others however seem to have been the type of targets we'd already identified and Baldini's work was more getting the deals done than scouting the player and identifying the targets (therefore surely any blame attributed must fall at someone elses door)

AVB was a huge mistake made by the club - before Baldini's time

Sherwood - well again I highly doubt it was Baldini's masterplan to have Tim take over

It would seem to me that we will have to judge him on the decisions made in the future rather than the mistakes of the past due to the timing of his appointment.

That said he offered his resignation at the time of AVB's sacking - so there's clearly some reason to hold him accountable for our lack of success so not necessarily right to absolve him of blame completely either.

All in all though - what was the point of bumping this thread really? just to be a smug smart arse?
