Apparently they are over €1m in debt now.

AND still owe money on shite players

As noted by Marca, they still owe €126m in transfers in the short term, and it looks like €197m more in the long term.

Just glad we don't really trade with them. If they went bust, I guess Liverpool would be just under €70m out of pocket at a time when they don't appear to have much money anyway. They owe Juve €65m or so, too.
If only it was €1m!

Imagine having some meet one of your ridiculous release clauses for a player, though (Neymar) and this is your Transfer Committee straight after:

That's nuts.

They really need to let Messi leave. That'll sort some of their financial problems, their players are on ridiculous wages (as are most players) but they are really really bad.

Struggled for some time now to meet the financial fair play rules. All these 'dodgy' buys and sales e.g. Paulinho and Arthur. Obvious that there's some dodgy shit going on.

Can't blame him for accepting a deal but he had to know his salary was using up an extraordinary percentage of the clubs payroll budget with little chance of surrounding himself of better players. Guess he doesn't care about that. A one man team and one man bankruptcy machine.

Don't blame the player, blame the club...at the end of the day it's down to Barcelona to sort their finances out, if they couldn't afford to keep him then why give him a lucrative deal.

Surely this would mean Messi headed to City next session. Also might mean Kane will stay. Not many other clubs can afford him. I doubt Barca only club in Spain to have legal issues.

Whether the Spanish authorities are bothered to follow up will be key. Barca and Bilbao were posing as non-profits for about 20 years to lower their tax bills, Real sold land to the City of Madrid for well over its value and the Region of Valencia used public guarantees to cover Valencia's loans from commercial banks. When it came out that Spanish football clubs had an outstanding tax liability of €750m and an additional €660m of unpaid social security premiums the Spanish Minister for Sport suggested they cancel their tax debts. The Spanish authorities and football clubs are often partners in crime.
