With poch’s spanish connections we should be trying to pick up some of their players. Although I guess lots of other clubs say the same thing. But if Dortmund can do it, why can’t we?

Dortmund can really offer first team chances, we need to do the same if we want these high caliber youngsters. Doesn't matter what club we get them from. We haven't been good enough at this.

The lack of a director of football/head transfer honcho to blame I suspect.

Exactly this. I hate to say it but Poch's supposed record for bringing through youngsters is a bit of a myth and is almost entirely based on Kane who was already part of the first team when he took over and only got a chance as a last resort due to the soldado and Ade situation. Obviously winks has come through under Poch as well but other than those two he really doesn't have the record of giving youngsters a chance that his reputation suggests. Look at the way the likes of KWP has been dealt with over the past couple of years. We've lost a couple of supposedly hit prospects for out academy and that's partly because they didn't see any route to the first team by staying with us.

Don't forget Dele. I know we bought him, but he was still drafted in to the first team before he was 20. Saying that it's a lot easier to give game time to young players who already have a lot of first team experience from playing at other clubs.

On that note the same can be said of Eric Dier

Fuck me, Barca have lost a lot of talent. That's really poor business long term...

It remains to be seen if these players will turn out to be great. Talented yes but we have to remember kids get hyped to much and then when they don't make it at a top club it must be their attitude or something else to blame. Just look at our own marcus edwards, the mini messi.

The point is that many of them will be choosing to leave because their path is blocked. The previous parts show how short sighted Barca have been in recent years.

Messi has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave at the end of the season – and for free. As Abidal admitted, all he has to do is communicate that in May. The 32-year-old has said repeatedly he wants to finish his career at Barcelona but has also said he wants to compete and over the past five years he has felt increasingly like Barça do not

He will probably stay at Barca, they will go and get Neymar this summer and all will be happy again.

Situation at Barca right now:

Abidal sacking Setien..

Abidal "That's funny, the papers are saying there's going to be a big shake up after this"

Bartomeu "Is it a problem?"

Abidal "No, no. I'm done here."

Look at the Barcelona president spread fake news. He KNOWS he wrapped up a deal with pochettino weeks ago. We have good itk on that from dragon1. I wonder why he’s doing that. Perhaps it was a fast-moving situation...

WTH is going on. Dragon1 said this was a done deal for Poch. I’m glad the itk on this site don’t present misleading information as fact

De Jong would be nice....

Realistically? No one, watch Arsenal get Suarez at last, 33 years old, got to be worth a 4 year contract on 250k a week for them.
