Our away form is shocking so id say beating Everton is more realistic & even then i think that will be a struggle

Would have said Ajax this morning. For the first time in my life span we are one result away from a major European final. On a one off day at a neutral venue why can't we beat Barca? Guess I am the only one with an ounce of belief. Despite everything that has happened we are in a CL semi final and not even out of it going in to the 2nd leg. We are highly likely to finish 4th minimum (group stage guaranteed) for what, the 4th year?

We can go into next season with a decent pre season, stadium from day one and a few signings and we'll improve.

It seems now we have secured CL for next season, unless the unthinkable happed with goal difference. Still very pissed we allowed 3rd place to be in the hand of Chelsea.

But - just me being cautious here - If Liverpoo win the Champ League, Woolwich win Europa, and we are 4th does that not mean we lose out ?? Do enlighten me and save my fingernails please !

Nope, there’s 5 places available if this league produces a Europa league winner that finishes outside top 4. We’d have only been at risk if Utd were still CL.

What happens if an English team win the Europa League?

Arsenal and Chelsea are both in the Europa League semi-finals and are among the favourites to lift the trophy in Baku. If either of them win the tournament, they will qualify for next season's Champions League group stages.

If the winners finish outside the top four in the Premier League, it will mean five English teams will be in the Champions League.

However if they do finish in the top four, then England will not get an extra spot. The team who finish third in the fifth-ranked league - France - will go into the Champions League group stages instead of the qualifiers.

There is no Champions League spot for the beaten finalists.

It's even worse - they've changed the rules back to where football was in the '80's and only the champions qualify for the European Cup!
