Should have got him all those years ago when we were first linked with him, Now we'll pay a higher fee with Newcastle making a tidy profit.

My first thought too. Very decent player when on form and fit but has had a very poor run of injuries, money would have to be very good for the deal to be worth the risk IMO.
If Van Persie can complete two seasons surely anybody can?

Okay maybe not Kieron Dyer but you get my drift ;)

I'd take the risk on him. Offers the width either side that we've been craving the last few games. Very talented and can beat a player with ease. Offers lots of creativity and that flair that us tottenham fans crave. To dare is to do.

France's Infosportplus are saying we're in for him.

He's a very very good player, would be far better than Ince. If Newcastle go down (god willing) he could be cut price too.

I'd be all for it if not for his apparent susceptibility to injury. Seems to take him a while to get sharp each time he comes back from them as well. I thought he only had one year left on his contract but it turns out he has two. With that in mind I think he'd represent too much of a risk comparative to the likely cost.

Would rather give Townsend more of a shot and concentrate on getting in an incutting right footer. Find it strange that we're being linked with incutting lefties when we have a couple of players who can do that already (as well as Lennon!). Admittedly Ben Arfa is a little more versatile than just being a right winger but still...

Injury prone with attitude problems, so nah. On his day he's one of the most gifted players in Europe....but problem is, he rarely have his day. Never grew up to be the player he was expected to be, largely due to his attitude, or rather lack of it...

maybe we are signing him for Fulham or Chelsea?

Tottenham have opened negotiations with Newcastle's Hatem Ben Arfa, 26, to bring him to west London next season.
