The yellow to Vicario and Maddison are what they said would happen. I'll be okay with them as long as that standard is applied to everyone. But if I watch Chelsea/Liverpool and see those cards not given then thats when the problems will start.

We have to believe in what we are doing more, I understand what Ange means if you don't believe 100% the cracks appear in this system.

Sonny is wasted wide on the wing
He needs to be playing centrally now. He’s lost his pace entirely and looks reluctant to take on players. Needs to just fall back on his finishing now. It’s precisely what Ronaldo did and it extended his career at the top.

Not watching but I see Romero has been subbed. Was it a knock or something more serious?
Concussion though the concussion sub wasn't used. Clash of heads with Mbuemo before he scored a header, but he looked out of it in the celebration huddle.

To finish in the top 8 this season, we'll need a minimum 30 goals (maybe even 40) from the starting front 3 attackers. It doesn't matter what system Son, Richarlison and Kulusevski have played in over the last year: they've been completely lacking when it comes to end product.

Aside from a striker, the club should take a long look at a goal scoring versatile wing-forward. Olmo or Kudus would both be good fits for this system.
Priority for me is a touchline winger. Richy and Sonny can't score if they don't have chances. Bring in a winger, Orban and a CB and we are good to go.

Superior individuals vs superior system at the moment, which is to be expected so far into Frank's tenure. Ange will get us up to speed soon enough, just need to grind out results while we learn. We'll get better every game, especially when new players and the yet to be signed settle in. This is transition, never easy.

GLC on for skipp and the ball starts to move alot faster to the front 3, were not moving it fast enough, GLC can see the game way ahead of him and I dont see how in this game Skipp coming off affects us

Head clash early. Was allowed to continue. Scored a header and looked dizzy. So Ange did the right thing and took him off

Sonny is wasted wide on the wing
then what's his role against 7 man boxes? afraid the answer won't please some.

he had opportunities to take on his defender but instead faced up on that slow dribble either to revert it back to the midfielder or to pass it onto the outwards cut towards the corner. became more assertive later in the half though. he needs to take on his defender more often when there's an opportunity to do it.

The 3 up top need to wake up
Yep. Kulu for me was poor in particular. Perhaps because he had more of the ball (which in itself is actually a positive vs Son/Richi).

Hoping Ange has a couple of tricks up his sleeve to get around those banks of defenders

Possible concussion. Clashed heads with Mbuemo about a minute before he scored and he did not look all there.

Players look a bit nervous and the shape isnt completely right so far. Also massively missing a proper CF here as Richarlison just not doing anything atm.

We need to attack quicker as they keep regaining their shape before we can create anything.
To be fair to him, I don’t think there’s any instruction or part of Ange’s system that wants it played up to Richy’s feet with his back to goal (ie what we see as a traditional #9). Defintely work to be done to work out how to get him involved and effective

Just as we have the context that Dier could be an okay alternative in the middle of back three under a deep sitting defence I think the same goes for Emerson with three defenders behind him in a deep block. Great goal, but his good defensive play only works when he has the ball in front of him.

Could Spence be an alternative with his recovery pace?
Have you seen Spence play? If you had you would not have said what you have.

Richarlison looks totally lost up there. Has no idea how to get himself into the game.

We are so obviously going to need to buy a goal threat before the window closes.
I don't recall a pass landing in his favour though. The forward play is still, unless Madds gets it, very flat and slow. A couple of balls played in behind him also.

I'm making some excuses for the lad as he does seem a bit lost at sea. But it would help if he was supplied. Which i think will come in time.

Son and kulu aren't really helping much in this respect. Kulu especially 1 dimensional.

Although I appreciate this is being hyper critical on a new system.
