Spurs certainly not alone in this, so not being hyper critical of our players here. It’s more that I’m generally baffled by this trend for having the CBs at the corners of the six yard box to receive the ball at goal kicks. Seems like an open invite to be put under pressure.

The attack dies whenever it gets to Kulusevski or Som, it’s happened a dozen times today
That's is enjoying the fruits of last season's negative football. They need to get out of that mode of waiting

Son is a waste of space in this formation. We need our front 3 to be coming short, then making runs in. Just standing level with Brentfords CBs is pointless.
Chill out. It’s a compact back line and a well schooled midfield he is playing against who who are looking to sit deep

With the penalty, I'd really have liked to have heard a discussion between the ref and the VAR official regarding whether the contact was incidental or not. Probably would have bothered me way less if that conversation had been broadcast and they'd just decided that the contact was consequential. Without having the conversation broadcast it just looks like they've seen evidence that the forwards boot has been farted on and sent it straight for the ref to review and because the ref has been sent for review he's already decided to give it.
