Decent point. Especially as we're behind everyone else in terms of pre-season. Lots a positives. Maddison is class, Biss, what a game. We have a good squad, just need to use that Kane money to upgrade the defense (imo)

Very excited for the season. Whatever happens, we'll be playing attractive, attacking football. The way a Spurs team should play!

Ange has plenty to learn, can’t ask inverted wide forwards to play as orthodox wingers. Either the roles need to change or his selections do. For me it should be Son up front with Solomon or Perisic on the left. I also think we need a player to compete to Kulusevski, who was not at it today.

Overall this is a transitional season and we need to have patience for Ange to learn his best lineup and implement his style.

Early days. Some promising performances (Udogie looks perfect for the role being asked of him and Bissouma was brilliant). The team looks very fit for the first competitive game. Once the backline (or the various combinations that can be used) are accustomed to each other and the playing style and if the front three can get their tails up the makings of a good team are there.

Some good things to build on but that front 3 worries me.

Vicario also has a bit of Gomes about him
I hope not, gomes possibly the least brave keeper I've ever seen.

Son up top and drop the bag on a top LW with elite 1v1 threat. Richarlison just isn't a particularly good player and we shouldn't be persisting with him at striker just because he cost far too much money.

Apart from that, the system looks decent. Need better defenders to give us a bit of depth.

I'm really happy 😊. Played well. Credit to Brentford they defended well. We've scraped draws, so it's progress

Really encouraging start against a very tricky opposition. Loving to see us dominate. The defence was pretty good after it had time to settle down. VdV looks great, Bissouma is incredible, and Maddison is going to be huge for us. Considering what Brentford did Man Utd on the opening game last year, this was really impressive given all the changes.

Obviously just our first game of the season, but I’m already concerned about our front 3. Richy looks well off it and Sonny & Kulu both look like they have picked up from where they left off last season.

Encouraging performance for me. Maddison just about shaded it (from Bissouma) for me for MoM, despite what Alan Smith thought.

Good performances from Udogie and Emerson Royal too.

Mostly pleased with that. Probably a fair result. A lot of new players, playing some good football, at a side that are difficult to play against with a great home record. We probably a match or two behind on fitness two. Nervy in defence first half and front three never really got going but that can be worked on.

It’s going to be a up and down first half of the season, but the signs are there that this could be a very good side.
Dreading today, especially having UTD next week too. Cous.
