Fairly encouraging, definitely more enjoyable than most games last season. Hopefully there is a further £100-£150m to be spent on this squad too

Skipp had repellent 🧲 on his boots today, some dodgy touches, big dav the same.

Id like to see Lo Celso on for skipp and Solomon on for Kulu mabye also put son up top and richy off and Perisic on at LW those changes throughout the 2nd half where needed.
Agree on Skipp. Thought Dav held himself well all things considered.

Impressed with the performance especially second half. Sanchez looked good and new signings all played well notably van de ven and udogie. Lord knows why bissouma didn’t get more game time last season. Not convinced current front three work. Think right winger and back up / competition striker minimum. Coys

Yeah, I feel that Kulu and particularly Son look a little lost in this system, son barely involved. Might be because Brentford defended very well. Good result considering how well Brentford do at home. Overall I feel we deserved the win though.
I didn’t really notice it with Son, but they always had one really tight on Kulu, doubled up on him quite a lot as well. Obviously wary of him after his first against them at the end of last season.

Wasn’t bad was it?

Vicario a little wobbly, but that’s to be expected. Biss, Destiny and Madders were superb. Abit more work to do, but that was encouraging.

Also, I’m trying to keep myself in check but the last two games have really given me second thoughts about Sanchez. He should probably still go, but still he’s done well.

A lot of promising football. My big concern is the GK. This guy looks like a joke. Eveything was laced with anxiety. Its like we've respawned a young Hugo on his worst days.
That’s what you got out of that game seriously. Son and Kulu looked ineffective, Skipp was largely anonymous, Emerson caught out for goal and sitter and the goalkeeper was the weak link.

Bissouma, Udogie, Maddison looked class and VDV and Sanchez were solid.

Ran out of steam and perhaps Ange could have used his bench a bit more.

This system REQUIRES the wide forwards to be direct and attack. Currently Solomon and Perisic do it better than Son and Kulusevski

I think we need to move the ball a bit quicker especially in transition, but encouraging signs.

This was my biggest takeaway and frustration from today, compared to the preseason (i know) the ball was moving much slower and too much of the old check back and pass it safe. I get the added pressure of playing an actual game, I hope this is something we will see improve for the next game
