2 poor distributions is all I can remember, no chance for the goals (would have saved the second but for the deflection). A number of decisive runs out to clear. Hardly put a foot wrong

Cannot understand what you're referring to
You missed him pushing a low cross straight into play 2nd half? How about when he almost got lobbed a la Seaman? And then almost gave a penalty away next action? Distribution was poor more than twice too.

I'm not crucifying the lad, but I just don't like the look of him thus far. Let's hope I'm wrong and you lot find these posts in 6 months time and laugh at me.

For his debut and first PL game, Vicario was fine. Plenty of room for improvement, of course, but if you're slating him already you need you head checked
I think some criticism is fair but like you say, it’s his first proper game. He looks nervous on the ball and still hasn’t eradicated knocking the ball out into dangerous areas yet.

What in the name of god was Conte telling Bissouma before games??? Different player today.

I'd be tempted to try Porro in the Kul role. I think he would offer quite a bit there.
He started by publicly announcing that he wasn't "tactically" good enough and, when he did deign to play him, Conte's way of playing completely snuffed out the best parts of his game

Things that stand out:

- Kulu should’ve been subbed. He looked better in the second half when he was hugging the line, but we needed more pace and direction.

- I understand Skipp gets into the right spots but I would’ve loved to see Lo Celso with Maddison. I know Lo Celso is likely the natural sub for Maddison but I still think we would’ve had great options.

- All things considered, we didn’t look too poor defensively. I thought VDV showed insane composure for his age and the amount of time on the team. Royal had one moment where he got skinned but overall, I can see him massively improving with a back 4. Udogie’s pace is bonkers.

- Richy was double teamed and got minimal supply. I know he is the right man for this job and will be great under Ange. I really hope he doesn’t get down on himself and I hope the media doesn’t make a story of “we are nothing without Kane.”

- Subbing Romero was the right call. Shows Ange is what we already knew: a human first and foremost.

All in all, this is about what you would expect as a result.

Will be really interesting to see how we cope against sides who actually want to play us as well. I thought we did well with very limited space. Brentford get a lot of credit but honestly they’re like a Waitrose Stoke City.
Woke City.

Edit: Oh and he spread himself really well to put off Muembo for the 'sitter' he missed at the far post
And one of those passes which went out was really Emerson misreading it, nothing wrong with the pass.

There was uncertainty in the defence at times because they haven't played together enough yet but I thought Vicario played well. Pulled off a couple of decent saves/blocks as well.

He was at fault for their 2nd goal, was beaten by Henry on other occasions also and was often sloppy in possession. I’m a fan of his and think he suits AP’s system but I thought today was a below par performance from him.
How was he "at fault"? He got beaten by good player while out of position. It happens.

second half he didn't lose a 50/50 and provided cover o Udogie's side several times.

Weird take

My main issue with Richi today was how slowly he shifted the ball between his feet. When chances come against a compact defence, either use your wrong foot or move it quicker. We've been spoiled with Harry, who was better than almost everyone in the game at it.
Agree. I was thinking Harry would have hit that with has left. Harry would have got a shot away there.

I find it crazy that professionals can’t use both feet well.

Will be interesting to see how this all unfolds, what qualities will we see from Richy, who will step up

I mean, he was quite poor defensively in the first half.
He got beaten twice by a good player - also he play's inverted so is out of position.
When he was given better cover behind that avenue to goal was completely shut down and he didn't lose another contest for the game.

tough crowd.

Considering we had 3 debuts in defence and then lost Romero in the first half., I thought it was a decent performance. Keeper not convincing just yet.
Brentford is a hard place to go. In the last two seasons they have battered Arsenal and Man Utd in the first home game. They just defend and then counter attack with pace and balls over the full backs.
No Dier in the squad. Apparently taken anything Spurs related off his IG. Could he be off.
See the post elsewhere where they said he's never had anything Spurs related on his IG.
