People need to stop comparing him to Harry then. There is no other player we could get that is like Harry. It’s because Harry Kane is top, top, world superstar level class.

Richarlison has never been able to do what Kane does, and he never will. It’s a different way of playing. People need to realise that.

Richarlison had an absolutely minimal level of service today and was often triangled by defenders. Like you say, we will see how he develops, but people need to stop comparing him to Kane.
Lol what. My point was that I think it should be pretty standard for a top professional to be handy with both feet, especially as a striker. And if I want to I’ll point out the differences. Lol.

Couple points on the game:

1. I’ve seen majority saying that Richarlison was useless.

Well with our wingers told the hold the width, Richarlison was competing completely alone with Brentford’s three CB’s that had an average height of 6’5.

And also with Brentford’s ridiculous low block, there was zero room for Richarlison to run in behind which is prob the most important part to Ange’s striker and Richarlison’s game.

I don’t think Richarlison will have a match that is as tough or ill-suited for him all year. So please give him a chance atleast.

2. Was delighted to see Ange having no problem subbing off Son at the 70’ minute, having just made him captain the day before.

Conte simply refused to sub off Son plenty of times last season which was very often to our detriment. So it was brilliant to see Ange acknowledge that he was ineffective and making the change.

3. If anyone had any doubts that Paratici was involved, he was at the game and taking pictures with fans after the match.

I can't see how Son can contribute to this formation and style. I'm sure he was doing exactly what Ange told him to do, standing out wide, but if Ange wants him more involved he'll have to work out how to make it happen, 'cos Son's not learning any new tricks at this stage. The whole front line needs to be moving about more, and maybe that'll come with more time on the training ground, but we also need to be more threatening from distance. We need some defenders feeling the need to come out to close us down. Today they just held their ground and watched us play it sideways until someone took a bad touch, and then it went back ointo our half. We saw enouh of that last season!

Your post mentioned thinking what Kane would have done in certain situations… my post was saying people need to stop comparing him to Kane. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Point out what you want. It wasn’t a dig.

Criticising Vicario after his first game, losing Romero and a new CB is just weird.

I’m very pleased with that performance….. difficult place to win. New team. Disruptive and poorly planned pre-season. Nice one Ange.

A lot of promising football. My big concern is the GK. This guy looks like a joke. Eveything was laced with anxiety. Its like we've respawned a young Hugo on his worst days.
Lay off Vicario FFS. His debut for us in a competitive away Prem game. GK is the - hardest - position for a new signing to settle in to - by far.

Saw some flashes of good play from him too, by no means a poor performance, he was just lacking in confidence.

What is with this fanbase where we refuse to give new players a chance??

Considering the situation - I thought all played well under pressure.

Both Micky and vicc gave me confidence. And Sanchez…..don’t want to say it….keep?

A few of the new boys looked nervous at the start, thought they all grew into it.

Only concern was the front 3 who did look a bit toothless as a unit, but Brentford were so organised and compact, they really didn't give them a sniff, theres certainly no need to press the panic button yet. Lots of positives though. Bissouma looks an absolute monster, Udogie is class as is Maddison, and our defence actually looked pretty good in the 2nd half especially VDV. Given we had so many new players, a new manager, just lost our star player, and had such a disrupted preseason I thought it was a really good performance!

Never underestimate some of SC's posters in their ability to find negatives where there aren't any.

Why are some peopleso desperate to dog people out?

Vic was fine. He conceded from a soft penalty and a deflection on a shothe otherwise would have saved.

Royal was one of our best players.

Richy was fine but not given tonnes of service.

Positives today for me were VDV, Udogie, Bissouma and Maddison. There’s obviously a huge Kane-shaped hole in the team and I don’t think Richarlison is the one to replace him. As good as they are, you don’t get the best out of Son and Kulu being that wide so I think we still need another wide player.

I loved seeing us keep the ball, play high and play with a bit of tempo and I’m excited to see how we do against a top team next weekend.

Special mention for Sanchez too.
