Our Academy made a positive start to the Eurofoot Tournament in Belgium on Friday.

They kicked-off the prestigious event held over three days with a goalless draw against French side Valenciennes FC.
However, they followed up with an impressive 4-0 victory against Danish side Nordsjaelland.
With matches played over two 25-minute halves, Kyle Walker-Peters opened the scoring in the 14th minute, quickly followed by Darren McQueen for a 2-0 lead at the break.
Anthony Georgiou made it 3-0 after 43 minutes and Daniel Akindayini completed the scoring in injury time.
The lads now take on Zulte-Waregem, Cercle Brugge and Standard Liege in Group B on Saturday.

ACADEMY REACH SEMI-FINALS OF EUROFOOT


Our Academy squad have progressed to the semi-finals of the Eurofoot Tournament in Belgium.

They completed the group stages unbeaten - and without conceding a goal in five matches - with a 1-0 win over Zulte Waregem and goalless draws against Cercle Brugge and Standard Liege.
William Miller struck the all-important goal against Zulte Waregem.
The lads now face West Ham in a London derby in the semi-finals. West Ham topped Group A from Anderlecht. We finished runners-up in Group B with Nordsjaelland top on 12 points.

Group stage unbeaten and no goals conceded. That's very impressive for our young lads. Future is certainly bright, indeed.

We went out 5-4 on penalties to West Ham. Our keeper was injured halfway through, so an outfield player had to go in goal for 3 penalties.
