Just seen this thread, had posted in the ITK thread.
I don't see why he couldn't fit in with us. Uber lone forward who will hold the ball up. Ok we want him to be pressing from the front but who's to say Poch wouldn't be able to get him to do that.
The problem is though why would he want to come here and play second fiddle? Uprooting Harry would be extremely difficult now.
Anyway I don't believe Liverpool would sell him to a rival for a knock down price either, and after only signing him in the summer....can't see how this would have any legs to it whatsoever.
In a perfect world though he'd be a class addition to back up Kane and to give him some competition if we could nick him on the cheap.

Why do people dislike+WTF me for making this thread? Is it against the rules making a thread based on ITK transfers? If so - then im sorry. Im just passing on information.

I suppose here he would be happy to be second fiddle to Harry.
Where as at the Dippers he's currently second fiddle to... No one. they would rather play without a striker than with him which must be filling him with confidence.

Also, another pertinent point here is that we're leading the way in scoring from set pieces....Benteke is excellent in the air and could really reap the benefits from that point of view.
If we want a real go at the Europa and to push on up the League, especially with it being so open, I think this would be a sensational move. Strength in depth and this is the one position we're exceptionally light in. And there will be times were we could play Kane and Benteke, chasing a game etc. We know Poch has dropped Harry back into the ten position at times as well, so we could offer him much more game time than Liverpool.
Offloading Townsend would fetch a fair bit of the fee for Benteke too. Liverpool might just be prepared to sell him for somewhere between 15-20 million.
Still can't see them selling to a rival mind, unless we're talking silly money - and we won't be.

Just logged on and saw this thread. I have not checked the itk but last night I watched the Liverpool game with one thought ringing in my head. The thought was 'I wonder how much we could get Benteke for?" To me he would be perfect for us, far more proven than Berahino who I have strong reservations about, yet still has the potential to be better.

Disagree, we need a Benteke type player to play when Kane can't, and to challenge him too.

Sorry i didnt know wtf is a negative rating but it was really my first reaction as i cant believe liverpool would like to sell anyone to us, especially a player like benteke...
