Didn't he go to that clinic in Arizona and they had to strap him to the bed saying it was the worst case of addiction they had ever seen. Hate to be morbid and it will be a tragic day if it happens, but there seems an inevitable outcome to all this.

Real sad. Watched his debut for Spurs and most of games since. Unfortunately the warning signs have been there for some time and seem to be forgotten when his situation was no longer "flavour of the mouth" from a News reporting POV.

A lot of irreparable damage has been done but he can still be helped, but as hard as it is to accept, Gazza has to want and needs to help himself first. I am sure once this happens there will be a lot of support from family and friends alike.

My main concern from the Sun's reporting is, Why does Harry Rednapp thinks it is wise to allow Gazza amongst Kids in his state? So much wrong with that. If the offer was not self serving but genuine then fair enough but wrong IMO. An own goal Harry.

I always read the title as 'Concern for Gaza' and kept thinking "how the fuck hasn't this been locked yet?"

I don't give a crap about Harry but I do care about a drunk and alcoholic working with impressionable Kids which obviously don't . You would rather defend him Harry than be concerned, really...

Reminds me of the story of Scott Hall. Look it up. He was the same way. Was expecting news of his passing everyday. That was until his friend Diamond Dallas Page stepped in and helped him with his addiction. Not only Hall, but Jake Roberts too. Both have turned their lives around in incredible fashion. I'd love to see what DDP can do with Gazza.

So, no sooner has he dried out at the hospital and he's back to the booze.

The humour value of the chicken aside, I've had a lot of time for Gazza over his problems because I understand how tough it is to fight addiction, especially when there are mental health problems, which clearly Gazza has. I fear that despite his many rehabs he hasn't had the appropriate counseling and acute mental health treatment. He lives a life of utter loneliness, while at the same time is mercilessly pursued by the media, which is extremely counter productive to recovery. He is akin to a child who has mental health issues and simply doesn't know how to deal with them. I fear that those issues will ultimately stop him wanting to properly fight this and a combination of this and the media hounding will soon drive him into his grave.

I can't help but feel angry at those off licences, and particularly publicans who, despite his all too public implosion, still sell the man booze.

Obviously the booze part of that is entirely concerning, but I think there was little said about how much better he looked from the image taken after the police incident. Actually looks like Gazza again.

Think you're bang on though, this Daily Mail witch hunt cannot be good for anything, let alone rehabilitation.

I fucking hate the media. Just leave him alone ffs.

Oh, and where are those bloody scumbags Evans and Baker now? Self proclaimed "drinking buddies" of Gazza's who used to cling on onto him back into the '90s?

It doesn't get any better and I hate the way the Press hound him.

Watching someone lurch towards his inevitable end in ever-decreasing circles is downright uncomfortable and wrong.

He's right back on the booze again and that can only have dire consequences. It's very sad but I think he's a lost cause.

Didn't they stump up for this rehab a while back? I can't say I blame them if he's help their help and not done his part (not that I would give up on him so easily, but still).

i dont necessary think it is the press hounding him anymore. its anyone with an iphone who lives in the sandbanks area. He is a well known face and we live in a world of easy access to media outlets. If you are sitting in a pub garden cuddling a chicken and throwing bricks at vans. Someone is going to take a picture of you.
