Whilst we were busy making the red half of Milan look as silly as we did the blue half, Conor Wickham was busy scoring a hattrick for Ipswich. Seeing as we're probably the club most linked to signing the 17 year old in the summer, this is promising. He didn't play much in the first half of the season under Roy Keane, but has 5 in the last 6 games under Paul Jewell.

Connor Wickham foresaw Ipswich Town hat-trick

Wickham has played 58 games for Ipswich with 35 coming as a substitute
Ipswich boss Paul Jewell has revealed young striker Connor Wickham predicted he would grab a hat-trick in Tuesday's 6-0 demolition of Doncaster.
The 17-year-old, who had not scored this season until January, now has five goals in his last six games.
"I said to him at half-time, 'don't be happy with just one goal, go out there and get another one'," Jewell told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"He said to me 'I'm going to get two more'. It was a great night for him."
The England Under-21 international's hat-trick against Rovers was his first senior three-goal haul.
"Hopefully there'll be many more hat-tricks and hopefully with Ipswich," Jewell added.
"I've been saying from day one we've got to be careful not to overhype the lad."
"He's a young player, he's got huge potential and wants to learn and get better, I enjoy working with him as I enjoy working with the rest of the team.
"As always, I'm a miserable so and so, I want more and I want to do better."
The result was Town's best since November 2007 when they beat Bristol City by the same scoreline.
But despite taking a 3-0 advantage into the break at the Keepmoat Stadium, Jewell said he had demanded more of his side.
"I was a bit angry at half-time really," he admitted.
"We just got a little bit sloppy. I said 'go out second half, like good teams do, and kill them off'.
"The first 10, 15 minutes of the second half I wasn't best pleased but once we got the fourth the game was won."

Anybody here who watched him regulary? I dont watch Championship at all so would like to hear some thoughts of other users on here. Is he already an improvement on our strikers or is he still one for the future, being loaned out again like our other youngsters? Is he that much better than Kane that hes worth being spend 8-10m on instead of giving Kane a chance?

I wonder post Bent to Villa and Carroll to pool what price he would be?
From my limited view of TV highlights he certainly seems a top prospect but is his value now £15 mill+?

Everytime i've seen this kid I've been seriously impressed. I suspect he'll cost a fair bit though, and I imagine most PL teams are watching him closely.

Actual Value approx - 6m
Hyped up potential - 7m

I saw him in the week and he is different class.

Saying that, Harry Kane looks promising but Wickham is scoring against men and is 18 yet capped at U21 for England. That makes him a very much different.

He is worth no more than £5m + add ons IMHO

Didn't score till Jan (5 months) in an inferior league to ours so he is probably at least 4 years away from being ready for our 1st team
