Have I missed something have we changed our club motto. This was all over the shop today, it was the tifo and it’s in Twitter Bio. I didn’t get the memo ?

Maybe it's reflecting the fact that board have now decided to "do".
Pumping in 150m + is certainly more "do", than anything else.

To dare is to do whilst sounding like a great sentence and having historic merit ultimately is a sentence which is about a beautiful attempt but a beautiful attempt is still a failure.

As a club that has unfortunately fallen short so many times, I think we should actually not be afraid to update the motto and not fear change or think we are losing some of our history, I think it’s time we had a mentality shift and started valuing not only the attempt but succeeding also.

Let’s appreciate that the club is actually seeing how much winning matters and that even though being daring enough to take risks should be admired, that it’s no longer enough.

the pedant in me thinks it should be dream, dare, do

i reckon in any lofty goal setting the dreaming and imagining comes before you dare to do it

but it's quite snappy and alliterative and a made for shirts and stickers and badges and tifos and so on

To be fair, I always liked the old Latin jobbie and wasn't a great fan of the whole "to dare is to do" change.
Dare, dream, do, sounds good to me.

I just genuinely wondered if we have changed it. I mean if they did would they announce it or just sort of phase this new motto in.

I don't think it's anything to do with any sort of change, the club motto is Audere est Facere and that's that. Changing it would be a massive thing and absolutely not something even short-round would try to sneak in under the radar. They (the club) even said as much by using the phrase and actually saying it was our motto as recently as last year in an article on the OS.

This stuff is all marketing. A play on words based around our motto. That's all.

I think it’s because the South Stand isn’t wide enough to fit in “To Dare Is Too Dear” ?

It’s a talking point. Gets the fans guessing if something has happened. Is it qualifying for UCL? Is it the Funding? Kane and Conte? Either way doesn’t work as none of us care.
