Let’s see how long it takes for them to actually bid the price Brentford want and get the deal done?

if it happens just goes to show the gulf in the two clubs aspiration wise, quality wise etc!

not even funny how far we’ve fallen behind them in the space of a year! Pathetic.

They haven't signed him yet and we signed one of the best keepers in Italy instead, i don't get why them potentially signing Raya would be a problem for Spurs fans ?
Let's be honest...Vicario is a bit of a punt for us. It really could go either way.

The fact of the matter is he was significantly cheaper than Raya, a proven PL keeper. If they sign Raya and he does well there (likely) and Vicario underperforms here it will be very ugly.

It also highlights the difference in mindset between the clubs. Keeper was a key signing for us this window, absoltuely essential but we went a different route rather than pay for Raya.

Is anyone really surprised? Arsenal act like a big club with ambition and aspiration. They finished 2nd last season and have gone all out to compete again for the title, what did we do after we finished 2nd?

Lol Arsenal didn’t even need a keeper and they’re still prepared to pay more than we were even though we’re replacing our elite keeper of 10 years.

We are so far off its a joke.

And yet ITK indicated that Vicario was top of our list.

how? They sensed a weakness and are dealing with it. What's is desperate about trying to bring in a better player in an important position
He just signed a new contract a month ago when he already had a long deal. Now it's gonna make it much harder to shift. How is that good planning, or a big club move?

In fairness, I am going to give our extensive scouting network the benfit of the doubt here over my opinion having never seen the guy play. Maybe they've seen something in him and pulled a stroke.

It's just hard to trust after so many disapointments....can;t say I am thrilled what I have seen from him in pre-season but it's two games that don't mean anything. I am willing to give benefit of the doubt and support the guy 100%....I just have that feeling that this one could go sideways.

PS I would also question the narrative of him being top of the list....ITK was all in for Raya, not a mention of Vicario until we seemed to hit a stumbling block over price and then suddenly Vicario is top of the list. Why would we even bother talking with Brentford if Vicario was our number 1 choice and could be done so easily?

Why are people using this to dunk on us? Ramsdale just signed a new contract, now they think he's shit, this is terrible planning. Big club move my arse. This is desperate if they sign him.
How’s it desperate? They’re willing to spend ££ to have 2 top players competing for 1 spot.

So which other big clubs have 2 big time GKs? They must be the biggest of big clubs. The ultimate club. Absolute bollocks.

Makes no sense for Arsenal to buy him. Ramsdale is cemented as number 1 and Raya would not get game time and would be unhappy within 3 months. This may just be Brentford putting a rich club's name out there to spook Bayern.

Arsenal are not this dumb.

I can’t see him going to Arsenal and playing second fiddle to Ramsdale.

Equally, I can’t see him going to Arsenal and Ramsdale being happy to play second fiddle to him.

Something in me is still telling me that we’ll go back in for him before the end of the window; I hope so anyway

So they now have two top players in a key position. What's not positive about that. I include myself when I say this but we have been so ground down by spurs we are talking about someone being harder to shift when the important thing is just strengthening the squad constantly

No we didnt. We was supposedly a highly rated keeper but not one of rhe best there(yet). Gollini was highly rated as well. Vicario is a huge risk who has not looked all that convincing whatsoever in pre season thus far.
Vicario is definitely rated much higher in Italy than Gollini, who wasn't even certain starter for Atalanta in his last season and was replaced by Juan Musso

And yet there are absolutely 0 news saying that Arsenal are doing that lol. Most likely after us and United going for someone else, Bayern deal off, Sommer going to Inter and Chelsea going after Sanchez they will finally lower their asking price to something reasonable

Your point might be valid anywhere else on the field, but doing that with a keeper is dumb as fuck.
Spurs haven't mushed my brains so much that I think tying my old GK on a new long term deal, on massive wages, a month ago, when he already had a long term contract, and then buying a new first choice keeper, is good business.
First choice keepers hardly get injured or fatigued or anything, that's why most teams don't have serious competition there.
How is this a well thought out big club move?

Why is this thread still getting any attention. We have a new number 1, who cares about who them lot down the road want. I'm standing by Vicario and feel he will turn heads and prove to everyone how good he really is. Raya can go wherever he wants, don't really care anymore.

A lot of 'if's' there mate. Let's relax and see what happens shall we before having yet another melt down?
