Just read a piece criticising the FA for punishing Dele for unintentional racism when they have an all white board.

The lad did wrong, he knew it. Having a few BAME representatives in the FA wouldn't have changed the punishment.

I can't help thinking the FA judged a February incident from a June perspective. I thought a fine would suffice, I still think a ban is over the top.

A ban can never be OTT for a racial incident.
A bad taste joke based on someone's ethnicity, someone who it was not aimed at and who was totally unaware of it.
It wasn't intended to hurt or hinder that person in any way and he apologized straight away.
If it was a racial incident that doesn't make it a racist incident.

Still comes down as a racial incident whether it was the intention or not, same happened with Bernardo Silva.

It's all about the message being sent out and the deterrent for others not to do the same.

He would've got a ban back in February as well. I think he's got off really lightly. He was all over the news in China because of this. A lot of people were offended by it.

The men who decided on the punishment were two white and one black.

Dele is a Jose favourite - But I am starting to think, his place in XI will not be safe anymore.

Jose likes the 4-3-3. There is simply no place for Dele in that formation. Dele can only play in the no10 in 4-2-3-1 His ball hogging is really becoming silly nowadays - Dele got to improve and play with pace and keep the moving going.

If we get a good deal, I would be happy to sell him and get a proper no9 backup to Kane. If Ndombele isnt preferred, may be Dele got to stay. For me, one of Dele & Ndombele (if he lost his favour with Jose), has got to be sold for a no9.

I think Dele is a good player with a lot of tools. But I think his time wearing our shirt is over. I have this feeling he has given a lot to us and now he doesn't have anything else to show/prove. He will certainly be brilliant somewhere else.

I would love to see him replacing Thomas Müller in Bayern.

Honestly I wouldn’t be opposed to selling him. Especially if he’s keeping Ndombele out of the team.

Sell him for silly money and bring in excellent players in positions we need.

Dele just isn’t the same player he used to be. His ability has absolutely fallen off a cliff.

Not a bad shout. Muller and him are as about as similar a player as you can get for their style. He is a very good player but his niche is so specific that accommodating him is a chore.

If David Brooks proves in the next 9 games he is back to his form prior to his injuries then he should be the one to replace Dele. He is a better footballer then Dele, he can move with the ball, he has a better football brain, he can play off both feet and He can play across all three positions behind Kane and not look uncomfortable. The only thing Dele is better then him at this moment is his finishing but even that has started to dry up.

Didn't think he was bad v WHU but then the game changed quite dramatically in our favour when he went off and we switched to more of a 433 formation. It's a conundrum getting him on the pitch but Jose seems intent on doing it whatever.

I’d sell while there’s still a perception that he’s a good player. I haven’t been impressed with him for a long time

On several occasions last night where he received the ball in space an instead of pushing on at pace and putting West Ham under pressure, he slowed down to a jog giving them the chance to get all 10 players behind the ball. He seems to slow the attack down every time, not sure what’s wrong with him at the moment but definitely not the player he was.

Unfortunately for Dele I think his time is up with us. He doesn't suit a Mourinho team. As a fast, counter attacking team we don't need a player that slows play down & can't release the ball to our faster players.

Ndombele & Lamela are both better options in that third central role in my opinion.

It was hard to play counter attacking football yesterday evening as West Ham didn't attack.
Moura, Kane Son, and Alli all equally as bad as each other in the match.

I think he's in a fight with Lamela for that no10 role which will be good for him, some competition at least....until Lamela gets injured :cautious:

Under Poch for a while we had a perfectly balanced side. Playing a 4231 we had 2 full backs getting up and down the pitch all game long, 2 physical midfielders protecting the defence, a striker who could do it all and an attacking 3 consisting of a playmaker, an inside forward and Alli, a player who times his runs perfectly into the box. His goal and assist rates are extremely good.

But with the current personnel I can't see us playing that way again.

I have my doubts that Alli really fits into the current team or how Jose will get us playing.
