Something has always puzzled me about the Dele to Everton deal - we all know Levy is no mug when it comes to transfer finances - so it just doesn't add up that he would have let him go on a deal that guarantees us nothing in return - apart from saving on wages, which I accept were high. I am sure we would have heard by now, but wonder if there is some kind of agreement where he returns to us if the number of games is not met?
Why on Earth would he return to us????

The whole point of the deal was to free up wages and a squad place from a player that had little to no chance of ever returning to the first team

The deal was hedged in the highly unlikely event he found form and fitness again.

It's pretty much turned out exactly the way Levy expected.

I wonder if this deal meant Everton sold us Richarlison on more favourable terms?

If Everton refuse to play him and we refuse to budge on the conditions wtf will happen to him?

Only option is to come back to us on a free...

He’ll be out of contract for both us and everton in the summer so he will be sble to do whatever he wants. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go over to somewhere like america.

He was out of contract for us the second Everton signed him. How many more times does that need explaining that he isn't coming back to us?

Dele looks happier lately, although who knows what’s going on in his life. If he’s more mentally robust there’s an hell of a player in there as we well know. I wonder if he’s had a chat with Ange while behind the scenes at our place recently. Worth a trial period in the summer?

Do miss him. Often wonder what he’d be like under Ange, but he hasn’t played in so long now and there’s no chance of it happening.

Glad he's doing well and hopefully can now move on with his life, whatever he chooses to do. Good player for us at the beginning but unfortunately never as good as the hype around him suggested, not his fault.

He absolutely was as good as the hype suggested, he just lost his way.

How did he come across on it? Any use on tactics stuff?
Incredibly nervous, which is understandable given that it was his first time and there was a lot of tough, raw stuff in the air since the last time he spoke publicly. I thought he was ok tactically but doesn't seem like a natural talker. Wouldn't expect to see too much more from him in this capacity. Really hope he can get his playing career back on track soon.

Yeah maybe was the nerves but I didn’t get the sense he had paid too much attention to the weekends football.

I did also wonder what the atmosphere would be like watching the game in studio. Carragher is a boyhood Everton fan and obviously still has a soft spot for them - I wonder how invested Dele was in the studio.

Might have been said on here or on Twitter but really hope he gets a chance on the pitch next season. Whether at Everton or elsewhere, I look at a side like Blackpool that has allowed Barkley to get constant run and get back into form. Maybe someone in the championship or a newly promoted side could give him a chance. At this point, just get him playing week in/out and let him express himself.

Biggest problem is even as I saw with Barkley, the position Dele excelled in has been far more non-existent in modern day sides.
