Hasn't had a good season in about 3 or 4 years. I can't imagine he'd want to come and sit on our bench, and I can't imagine we would want to pay him 280k per week to do so.

Lazy journalism.

I'd only take him as back up to Kane NOT someone who can play with Kane. He needs to be central and we'd encounter the same problems we had with Llorente and Jannsen.

We need a more 'energetic' striker who can run the channels etc.

The only thing he'd be good for is to attending Hotspur Way in order to teach our players how to practise the dark arts without being punished at all.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. He's approaching the end of his career and is already sitting in the atletico bench. I can see why linking up with Jose could be attractive to him.

The salary is an issue, though that 280k is speculation and might well be before tax. Tax for high earners is considerably lower here than in spain, and with the wealth tax and so on. and there might be creative ways of solving that issue as well.

While not as good as he used to be, I've watched Atleti more than a few times and he still offers quite a lot for the team, holds up the ball as well as ever and is good at bringing others into play. He isn't likely to score a bucket loads of goals anymore but he is still a useful player

While I doubt it would happen, he is much more realistic than some of the other names mentioned for sure.

I'd love him if he came in alongside an athletic striker to play with Kane. Having actual depth up front would be amazing.

But on his own, he's just a big lump who I don't think could lead the line at the top level anymore.

He’s the kind of shit stirrer we need if we are going to change the mentally of the whole team. He used to be such a little shit on the pitch but equally an absolute clinical striker as well. Let’s do it!
