We do need to invest but we won't because first any quality players will not be available, second doubtful we can afford the quality we really need and lastly we just won't do business regardless.

We have a kind looking run of fixtures now and I'm hoping we can get 21 points from the next 8 games which would put us back in the mix at the very top. It might be asking a lot but we are capable and will have big players coming back and finding form again. I don't think Poch will be desperate for anyone unless they're top quality and I don't think Levy will buy anyone unless we can get a good deal which is unlikely in January. So while we should always look to improve the squad, I'm not expecting any signings unless we have outgoing players.

I wouldn't say no if we could get Mido to come out of retirement though :bag:

What about an offer for David Silva at Man City either in Jan or end of season ?

He is quality and can open up defenses .

Thing is where only good cause the others where shit, levy had a chance to buy quality and push us on, but chose not too, same thing every year, his balancing the books cause he wants to sell we will never be a top team with levy in charge, hopefully he sells in the next 2nyeras and we push on another level.

You forgot to say... BUILDING A 61K STADIUM.

Why would he quit a club that he can win pretty much everything at to come to us and take a 250k pay drop in the bargain absolutely no fucking chance.

I was shocked to learn he's still in his early 30s... the guys a good 20st plus.

What would people think of Arnautovic in our team? Just intrigued to know what others think.

I think he has his moments and is a bit of a MotD player - looks good if you don't see the majority of his playtime.

He's also a big fish in a small pond at Stoke and I think he's the kind of guy who needs that to be at his best. Can't see him fighting for a place amongst equally good or better players.

Think he's talented and useful but just wouldn't be a success for us specifically.

That's true

I do agree that January is rarely a time for transfers... It's a nothing window for me

It's a window that should be abolished imo but then I believe that the summer window should shut before the season starts, as it is at the moment I believe is a nonsense.

I agree, enough big fish in small pond signings. The stars of smaller teams never make it with us as they don't have the space nor usually the required quality to do so. See Bent, Bentley, Siggurdson, Dempsey as examples. All focal points for their teams but average at best for us.

Its common knowledge Dier was a Baldini guy. That became even more well known after Sherwood tried to take credit for Dier. Poch gets the blame for Sissoko and Janssen because he pushed for them and made the final call on them without a transfer commitee.

I don`t think we bin Sissoko or Janssen but they are squad player level and can be a success if used correctly...

Janssen needs chances created for him and im sure he will score... Sissoko can be a beast in the right system so suprised Poch did not give him a game yesterday..

From now on we need to be going after players who are targeting the first team... A quick technical striker who can beat a man and also run in behind.. we also need a quality playmaker who has vision.... two players could transform us... Our issue is 100% in the attacking area our movement and decision making are very very poor..

With good scouting this should not be unobtainable on our budget gems for good value are out there...

That I agree with but not sure it's possible because of the variations in international league start dates.

Your right but is it likely to happen as some keep suggesting we have a stadium to build so levy will not deviate from his path of buying low sell high, at least imo I cannot see a shift in mentality.

What does everyone think of Fabregas being sent out on loan?

If he's available and his wages aren't ridiculous then I can think of worse players to sign.
