I've almost convinced myself to try for tickets and to drive to Bern and back. 10 and a half hours each way according to Google, so would need to be a 2 dayer with overnight stay. Does this sound feasible, and is anybody up to car share to keep costs down?

Hmm, if that's you and that's our transport, I'll go on the back AND pay for the petrol.

OK if I hold on tight in the corners?

I've been to Switzerland by coach about four times and even though you would be faster in a car, it still took about 17 hours each time. It's a horrible drive and when you get half way there, you will wish you had booked a flight!

No. That's not me. I have one of those but it's 39 years old now so I don't ride it that hard anymore!

I was thinking of driving there and back as the flights are so expensive and I'll be taking my daughter and a friend.

Having said that, I've never driven on the other side of the road and am a bit nervous about that.

Now my friend is saying she can't get off work on the Monday and will fly out and join us - makes me feel even less like doing it. I'm up for a car share if anyone can keep awake and make sure I stay on the right side of the road and go the right way round the roundabouts etc. :eek:mg:
