I noticed, on TV, that there were a lot of empty seats at the Lane yesterday and I never noticed that before, even for matches against the less attractive teams.

Anyone got any idea as to why?

Yesterday was the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur, which would've kept a lot of of our Jewish fans from attending the game. I think this is the first time in a while that Spurs have played a game that coincided with a Jewish holy day, as I think normally we try to arrange games to avoid a clash.

I'd imagine this also explains a large amount of tickets available on the Ticket Exchange.

Dont the club count season ticket holders as attending even if they don't?

No, attendances are counted through the turnstiles. The goons announce their attendances by ticket sale and not by how many are actually there

mike leigh said about it on the spurs show that he thought there might be a few seats spare due to the jewish holiday. Looks like he was right. Hey at least we aren't like bolton or wigan.

Was Levy there? Weat Upper looked like it was missing whole families and was the most affected area of the ground. Our religious followers were probably the reason, might even be a few catholics seeing the Pope?

Possibly.

Ive seen more jews in the east and west stands actually, never usually south or north. Im basing this on spotting kippahs etc.

Yeah West stand had a lot of empty seats I noticed.
To be fair though its rarely 100% full there.
There were about 6 seats in a row infront of me
at young boys that were empty.
I think in the last 30 odd games I've been to only
the 6-4 against Reading really seemed full.
