Tom Rostance on the BBC is getting a roasting as he reckons both decisions were too tight to call after watching video replays.

Imagine if we had Cisse and Ba.

I have been for months. I can't understand why we didn't go for them or why fans in general weren't hoping we'd sign them.

I haven't seen it but people clearly have to take into account that the referee can't give a decision unless he's sure. It's no good him awarding a goal that was "probably" over the line, imagine how you'd feel if a ref did that and it turned out not to be over the line

I've just seen the photo's and while they show that Everton were unlucky they also show that the officials made the right decision. There's no way you could be 100% confident the ball was over the line. With the offside decision it's certainly understandable why the lino didn't see the defenders leg was playing him onside. His leg FFS! Given the number of times a player is given offside when their entire body is behind the defender it shouldn't be a surprise if they miss a leg.

I fully agree, though both decisions were wrong I can see how they could be given incorrectly without the aid of technology. It was more to do with th fact Tom had the benefit of video replays that were both conclusive and he still couldn't see that the goals should have stood.
