So didn't make the last match day squad. He has falling so far down the list it didn't even make any headlines

Not too sure but think it was mentioned he missed out due to being ill?
Regardless, if he had a chance to move in the summer even if it was a loan when it's clear he isn't in the managers plans but turned moves down, then he has to live with his decision and waste a year of his career in the process.

Fair play to Sanchez for for making the move even though he was higher in the pecking order than Dier. Could have hung around for a year and gone on a free next summer.

Maybe banter merchant is Eric's next career path.

Got to click on the Doherty tweet to see the reference.

Yeah, I really thought Dier is better than that, but that's quite a sarcasm and the social media team using it is kinda like giving him a finger for that.

I'm quite sad the last seasons core of leadership guys never seem happy or as cohesive within the current team like previous seasons.

it's hard to tell if it's sarcasm or actually believing it and being upset though

That is actually really sad to watch imo, even though he is smiling. He may not be good enough for us now but he still played a part for us throughout the years.

Yeah I feel for him, it must be a bit odd being at a club for that long to then take a step back from the starting eleven and the leadership group to then see the vibes changing in record time.

That said, I don't feel sorry for him. He knew he was not going to get a starting place this season, but didn't actively seek a move and chose to run down his contract instead. This can be contrasted to someone like Coady who got a loan to Everton last season as soon as he learnt he wasn't going to start for Wolves anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him feature against Fulham. Ange has been taking off Maddison and Son with niggles in multiple games and could do the same with Cuti who might not be fully fit for the 90 after his injury with Argentina.

Looked like he was joking to me. For all we know this is a bit of an in joke he has with the social media lads. He’s been on plenty of social media posts over the last few months too, so I think people are reading too much into this.

Bloody hell, I don't know whether it's something to do with what Gil is wearing, but he looks as if he's been on the pies.

Yeah don't think there's much in that clip to be honest. Clear Dier will be off and it's all about whether it's in January or the Summer now. Wish him the best where ever he ends up but really hope he goes in January so it'll be another one who isn't good enough out the door. We've needed to move on players like him for a while now and a relief we are finally making headway when it comes to clearing the decks.

I thought he'd find it impossible to play a high line. He bloody did it in a team with only 9 men.

Massive respect.

Him and PEH really helped give us some stability when they came on.
