The DM position should be rotated between Dier, Skipp and possibly Foyth, until we can get a proper DM in Jan or the summer.
Couple of questions...
1. Why rotate rather than let one player get a run of games to become sharper / better?
2. Why not try other players in CM who have actually played there before (like Lo Celso)?
This is just one example of the problem with playing Dier

An example of his poor positional sense from yesterday. He’s more advanced than Ndombele, Sissoko and even Son. It’s baffling what he’s doing so advanced up the pitch when he lacks the mobility to get back quick enough or the technical skills to play intricate, quick passing that’s required of advanced players in a counterattacking side.
His positional sense was a real issue
against Olympiakos, just as it was at times yesterday. But it’s not only this. He’s also incredibly slow and his passing, which has to be more precise and consistent, is poor.
If he wants to develop his career in an elite team, he needs to consider switching to CB, and even this isn’t a guaranteed success, because the game has passed him by in midfield now.
Yeah, I was left bewildered by his positioning at times yesterday. Not sure which stage of the match your clip is from, but there were a couple of times in the 2nd half when we were 2 or 3 up and he was pushed up almost into the final third.
I find it hard to imagine Jose has told him to do that, and I wouldn’t mind so much if I thought he could contribute there or he had the mobility to get back or win the ball back, but he doesn’t and the whole game seems to pass him by.
At the moment, every time we lose the ball in the opponents half, it only takes one ball between the lines and our defence is exposed.
My image is taken from much earlier in the game so he continues to make the same mistakes throughout the game.Yeah, I was left bewildered by his positioning at times yesterday. Poch always maintained his position was as a CB, but Dier wasn’t keen on this, choosing to develop his midfield game. But he really isn’t a midfielder, and I’m surprised he hasn’t figured this out yet

1. to see which player fits the problem position better and then possibly stick with that player until we get a new DM in. Also gives Skipp more game time.
2. to me, I think GLC would be of better use in a more advanced position. But maybe that’s just me.
Dier even when was playing his best football at Spurs, he was no where near best Wanyama. I don't know why people are expecting him to be our soultion at DM. I like Dier, he seems professional and very good guy, be he is not good enough. He can have good game but in long term he is not a solution.
Changing his position so often is doing him harm. If he has any future in international level it's in defence IMHO.
Yeah thats what got him into the England squad, poor form

The great thing about GLC is that he’s extremely versatile and more importantly he’s competent in every role.
Whilst Mourinho continues to rebuild our performances etc I don’t see the likes of Skipp getting a look in. He’s an unknown commodity and given we’re playing catch up in the EPL we can’t be taking risks playing the likes of Skipp, especially when Sessegnon for example can’t even get on the bench.
well, I’d really like to see GLC & Ndombele in the midfield two, with one covering the defenders when the other romps forward. Not sure if Jose sees it that way.
Guess, we have to give Jose the time to sort out which players adapt best in whichever positions.
