Pictures I’ve just seen on twitter suggest you may be right.

The images on Twitter give a shit perspective due to the camera angle. There’s one doing the rounds that suggests Son and Aurier combined to do it all in one go, but then you see the same from another angle and there’s meters between them.
The ankle gave way a split second before contact with Aurier. Besides which, there was actually nothing wrong with Aurier’s challenge. Any other day and nothing bad happens.

Why did Son put his hand up?

Saying he didnt commit the foul?

Calling for help for Gomes

Saying he was sorry?

maybe they the ref and or Var may have read it as an admission

It’s an admission that it was a silly challenge, however the challenge did not directly cause the injury.
Yellow card - absolutely, and that’s why Atkinson was about to show it,
Red card - not in a million years.

Only just watching highlights how was Mina's dive into Son not a penalty? Never mind VAR that was just a bad decision by the referee.

It's been explained away on here, thank goodness it wasn't someone from one of the top two teams, there would be chaos if it had of been.

Son didn't dive well enough in my opinion. The way he just lifted his legs midair gave the officials a reason not to give it. Someone like say, Sadio Mane, would have "sold" that foul in a more convincing and natural way and probably got a foul out of it.

It was a sad day for Mr Gomes and I wish him a speedy recovery but back to the match. It was another shit performance and another poor result. I ask "Where do we go from here?" 4th seems to far away so are we hoping for a 6th or 7th and EL especially as our manager has said he is happy with his squad and doesn't expect to buy in January?
I find this whole season so disappointing, more than all the other disappointing seasons. Players want to leave, players out of form, players we bought we are told by our manager wont be ready for another 18 months (what the F***** was that all about).
You know I can't wait for this season to be over and we can start a fresh...…. When have I heard that before?

I've been watching the incidents back on SSN this morning. Putting all our accepted issues to one side, we were absolutely robbed. Atkinson and the cronies in the VAR room should have been wearing masks and striped jumpers.

Borderline rugby tackle ridiculous it wasn't given, he then rolled and connected with Sons left leg.

In saying that I think we got away with the Dele handball, accidental or not I was convinced that was being given.

Yesterday we were unlucky, again. Son's red never a red. Referee caught up in the situation and gave the red based on Gomes's horrible injury. Team shackled after that and we ended up with one point... To days 'til next game. Wonder how the team will cope with the situation at Goodison yesterday.

I get why Dele's wasn't handball the attacker was powering over him and he didn't know where the ball was but I think Sanchez was lucky not to have one given against him, he didn't swing at richarlison but he planted his foot which richarlison stepped on. Still think the whole refereeing performance was poor.

Still absolutely fuming.

How can the refs just make it up as they go along. If I was Spurs I'd honestly get legal advice if that red isn’t overturned.

Robbed of two points even if it is.

The FA are going to defend VAR unfortunately. Utterly shit decision by Atkinson will also be defended but I think we have to try to clear Son's name, otherwise he'll always be 'the player who broke Andre Gomes leg'. Jamie Carragher said he'd watched the footage through in slow motion and the leg break was caused by Gomes awkward fall as opposed to anything either of our players did. If the FA won't grow a pair and do the right thing, I hope Sky will at least have the nuts to defend Son.

If their understanding of the rules is correct why wasn’t Delph sent off when he crippled Kane, or Cahill when he fractured Mason's skull?

I worry a bit for son psychologically if they don’t overturn. From what Dele/ Poch said it sounds like he was a mess. As others have said I don’t see it though.

Sorry but Aurier’s tackle broke his leg. If you go to twitter you can still see pictures galore of his foot full on Gomes’ ankle, full weight. None was on purpose, it was bad luck, but I’m pretty sure it was the second tackle as he fell that broke things.
Wrong, see the angle on the foot before Aurier is involved

My view for what it is worth. Sonny’s tackle shoved Gomez forward. This meaning he met Auriers tackle quicker than he would have if he was just at normal pace. Making Auriers tackle look bad. Therefore Aurier was not actually mistiming his tackle or going in to hurt him.

Sky saying several Everton players went into Spurs dressing room after the game to console Sonny.

I almost teared up when their players were consoling Son on the pitch while their teammate was broken on the floor. Outstanding display of empathy.
