nvm, found a clip, his right foot looks like it's half turned to the right, looks like he slid down onto it and done it a proper job.

The tackle didn't even look that dangerous, just a silly attempt from behind.

Oh ...

On that replay Son surely doesn't deserve a red? Surely it's a bad foul and a yellow but it's the collision with Aurier that snaps the leg?
As awful as the injury is, they surely have to rescind that. It would be one of the softest reds I've ever seen.

But how is it a red? He had a bad challenge but if Aurier didn't happen to be there he would not have gotten injured. Was the red for the foul or because he got injured?

I’m sorry if I sound insensitive but surely we can appeal that red. It’s how he landed that caused the injury. Yes, it was a foul but Son did not break his leg

How is it a red card? They didn’t use VAR to check!!!??? If they had, they would realise it was caused when Homes clattered into Aurier. It’s a shocking shocking shocking piece of refereeing.

Can't upgrade the card by virtue of the extent of the injury.

Yellow card for Son and without seeing it again with Aurier, I can't say.

That's never a fucking red. It's horribly unfortunate what happened but you can't go back and change a yellow to a red because of what took place after the challenge. He landed awkwardly and collided with another player, it was dreadfully unfortunate but it didn't stem from an act which was of a type that it inherently endangered the safety of a player any more than any challenge can.

Horrible injury but was barely a foul let alone a red.

Irresponsible officiating to dismiss a player who’s in that much distress IMO

The fact VAR cannot overrule red cards is a joke. Nearly as much a joke as the Ref reaching for a yellow, looking at the injury and then giving a red card.
