He just talks honestly - and speaks sense.

We couldn't have a better person overseeing the rebuild of the rebuild.

Agree with this. I don't agree with everything he says but his pedigree is undeniable so the club really has to just listen to everything he has to say in the short period he is with us. As he says, he has history of implementing strong strutures at previous clubs - especially Juve and Inter - so if we really want to reach that elite level and remain competitve when he leaves we just have to trust him.

Worth watching the whole thing. He just talks such sense. Only sign players who will make you better. Don't sign players who make you worse. When you're thinking about signing someone, you have to be sure about 'many aspects', not just whether he can kick a ball or not.

ALL IN ON TONY

Now that is a whacky concept, wonder if it'll catch on

I love this guy - he's great. Breath of fresh air. I hope he's around for a long time.

I suspect he won't be mind you. More's the pity.

So let's enjoy him while he's around. Hopefully we get top 4 this year, invest in the team and keep him for a bit longer. He's a game changer IMO

If he's looking at the squad, he has to be honest. Part of his job is to be upfront and say it's not the standard he needs.

I don't for one second believe he's asking for mountains to be moved. I don't think he'll be demanding 80m players are bought. He's asking for smarter decisions.

His remit is to win us titles and get us back in the top 4. It's totally unreasonable to ask him to work with this squad and achieve it with what he currently has. We have all been saying it.
He's always maintained this - and any suggestions he is a chequebook manager - with him it's all about trusting his judgement and respecting his assessments. I think this window has been a strong start in that effect. 4 outs and 2 in that all seem to fulfil his recommendations. I'm sure he would have liked a new RWB or ST this window but he understands it's not always possible in January.

I think it's been a solid start to the relationship, it's over to him to deliver on the pitch now. Hopefully he does his part and then there will be massive pressure on the club to deliver a huge summer for him.

Our biggest asset at this moment.
If we want to be a winning club we need to have a winning mentality. And finally we have someone on board who is a winner and a perfectionist in every fiber of his being.
Let's all hope he'll be around for long enough to let that uncompromising perfectionistic attitude seep through every layer of the club. We have been settling for second best and have reaped the resulting harvest of failure and mediocrity for far too long now...

Loved that press conference - he is very clear that we require a strong vision as a club and we need to stop making mistakes in the transfer market.

Did sound like a little dig at paratici for signing Gill
Just as much for the other two, but yeah felt he really questioned the Gil signing there.
Said it myself for many years, the scouting needs to take much more into consideration when bringing players to PL, must admit it has been poor for many years now. Hope Conte will have much to say come summer.

I blame Gil’s moustache.

Also, sounds like last summer could have been a learning curve for Fabio too, in that he didn’t yet fully understand the Premier League.

Really interested to see him refer to Kulu as ‘a 10 or wingback’. Could be a really interesting option to play him at WB in games against teams who will sit back and as a 10 in a 3-5-2 where we need more bodies in midfield

Absolutely RB. I only hope that when he does move on, we're in a much stronger place than we were when he joined us, and I have every confidence that will be the case.

It's very much a team effort on the pitch as much as it is off it. In Conte we trust.

COYS!!! ?‍♂️ ?‍♂️

Just watching the press conference. Some of the questions are really pointless / pathetic. Example, why did you let Dele Alli leave the club? FFS, he has not started many games for years. He clearly is not in Conte's plans and needs a fresh challenge. Total waste of everyone's time.

Some of the questions journos ask at these press conferences make me absolutely cringe.

Conte knows what he is doing. He's hit the nail on the head regarding our squad and transfers. First major step was taken in january... clear out and fresh faces with the right level and attitude. He needs to be backed big time in the summer... it's a must and essential for our future. Back him and get him to extend his contract beyond summer 2023... the two most important steps in our clubs recent history... if we can manage that then we will be on our way forward again ? COYS
