I hope you are right about a defender not getting a niggling injury- unless it gives Romario stays here for the next two weeks

Romero has already flown back to Argentina apparently. He is banned for 2 games but they are trying to get it reduced to 1.

His post match comments point to one very happy man as to how the team is now progressing under him and he feels they are understanding what he wants and the game more.

Really I think it’s just the introduction of the 2 Juve lads raising the quality level but it’s good to hear him happy about the team.
Almost feels like 3 signings with Romero back too. Look so much better at the back with him.

Glad that he hasn't forgotten, I certainly haven't.

I just hope that our game has something riding on it by the time we play them. No extra motivation required, just a reminder of their scumbag tactics

And I hope their squad is in much worse shape than when they postponed with 1 COVID case. Would serve the fuckers right.

Yep, Conte will be loving finally having Dier and Romero both playing together regularly.

The emergence of Doherty hitting more like his Wolves wing-back form has been good too as he offers far more of a threat than Emerson and he knows positionally how to play there.

And with Bentancur he dovetails nicely with PEH and with Kulu he gives us that creativity and guile that we’ve missed on that side as Lucas just runs around like a headless chicken.

All in all when we have everyone fit, our first XI is pretty bloody good especially now they’re more accustomed to Conteball.

Conte’s tantrum after Burnley was essentially a massive rocket ? to the players to say shape up or I won’t be your coach next season and that + the 2 Juve lads coming in and Romero being back have really all worked and we are now far more consistently performing at a good level match after match.

Long May it continue and with new signings in summer we will only get better and better under this world class coach.

Also to those who were saying Conte should be playing 4atb with these players etc, you are now seeing exactly why he has been sticking with his tried and tested 3-4-3 and that all that was needed was more and more time for the players to work on and adapt to the system as Conte knows it works well for him and it works well in this league.

I also think his words after the Man U defeat were equally productive. He said we'd played well despite the defeat and the players were finally getting it together and doing what he was asking. Players like to know they are doing well, especially if they have been working hard.

Lets face it, if Antonio was here from day 1 we'd be fighting for top 3 rather than in this fight for 4/5/6th.

Get a few players he wants in in the summer and let the good times roll...

I think he's used the carrot and the stick in equally effective ways. The way the team played away to Burnley for example didn't deserve the carrot, it deserved a full beating with a very big hard stick.

The way we played away to City, Man.U, Leeds and against Everton and West Ham at home all deserved and rightly got carrot treatment.

Not really Antonio related but can anyone tell me who the big tall bald guy is who always seems to greet the players as they come off the pitch?

That's Jonathan Sins.

He usually plays upfront but likes to come deep as well.

I think he also learned from his mistake last week when he took off Kulu for Lucas at 2-2 and we went on to lose. Obviously no guarantee we wouldn't have anyway but I think we all know who we would trust more. In a tight game you don't need to change the front 3 as they are league ahead of the replacements.
Shows how important those front 3 are when it comes to controlling games. They work in sync and know their responsibilities. Lucas is an instinct player - having that drop allows teams to settle at the back, build a foundation and start to move forward with a stable base. That then puts pressure on midfield and defence
