Lets be clear here. This is not some DL masterstroke. It's down to FP and money being promised from above. I'm not saying he's had no involvement, and it was all him that brought in FP in the first place. That is as far as it goes though. The credit for this all belongs to FP.

Something tells me the painful rebuild isn’t going to be that painful any more.

Aside from Son, there’s no player I’d truly miss at this point.
That's accurate. Sonny is the only one I think all of us supporters feel a special connection with.

As he has been officially appointed I assume his visa and work permit has been granted.

The name check to Levy in Conte's press statement smacks of Levy wanting that and shows just how rattled he was when the fans turned last Saturday.

The contrast to our manager search shitshow in the summer is enormous.

From spending 3 months to appoint an obvious caretaker, to spending 24 hours to appoint one of the worlds absolute top coaches.

I can finally begin to feel some optimism related to Spurs again!

As exciting as this is, like any appointment it’s a gamble. We aren’t guaranteed success, and he still has a big job on his hands getting these players to actually give a damn again.

He does look like the right character to get that out of them, and I’m excited to see what he does and how he sets us up.
It’s something to grasp now though. There was no hope of anything positive happening with this group under Nuno.

Romero and Son are the 2 I would be gutted if they left. Reguilon, tanganga, Rodon, Lucas, Ndombele, Skipp and Hojbjerg I would be annoyed at, but not gutted.

The rest I could see why they would leave and we would let them without being too fussed.

No excuses left now. This is a make or break moment for the club. Let’s hope Antonio and Fab get bag of money for Christmas and this could be one hell of a ride. Lots of interesting players whose contracts are up this summer so this will be interesting.

... although to give DL some credit, it was him who hired FP because of his contacts and negotiation skills, and him who has generated the funds for new players largely through the new stadium revenue streams (Boxing, NFL, Music concerts) and new sponsorship deals (Cinch and Getir).
