I know, it's so obvious. I totally understand why people are looking at the most likely avenue for change (i.e. the coach) but I don't have much optimism that we won't quickly arrive back at the same juncture.

Probably it will but I paid 55 quid on top of my season ticket to be there tonight and like everyone else in the stadium I don’t want to watch or pay for that shit we are being served up. The fanbase is so apathetic in the ground. Nobody wants to be there, the bastards really have ground us down.

I really wanted him to be a success too. I’ve actually been surprised as to how bad a manager he actually is. I’ve no idea how he’s won so much because his tactics are so easy to play against and he never changes a thing.

I think Jose and Conte are really interesting because football players and tactics have changed so much in the last 5-15 years but before that if you could motivate players, organise them, get them fit and time it right so you joined big clubs with tons of great players and a huge transfer fee then it was almost impossible to not win.

Take Jose & Conte at Chelsea, their squad was so stacked compared to the rest of the league at those times than any manager they hired was getting success, heck Di Matteo won them the CL didn’t he?

Jose at Real Madrid with prime Ronaldo and all those stars somehow managed to make them look boring but yes they still won because a cat could manage that squad and they’d win trophies, Conte also went to Inter when most teams in Italy were in a mess, Inter had ambitious owners who wanted to win and go and signed him the likes of Eriksen, Lukaku, Hakimi, Barella etc etc well yes of course he’s likely to be successful there.

But what their time at Tottenham has shown me is that:
1. Football and tactics have moved on and very very rarely right now so defensive low possession counter attacking tactics work well
2. These big name managers who lay this boring style and have volatile frankly unlikeable personalities DO NOT suit our club and current football model
3. These managers are becoming a bit outdated but also people are perhaps a bit blinded or biased by the simple fact they’ve won trophies, there are plenty of other managers who have got more out of certain squads than these guys but with no trophies on their CV but people don’t define and measure that as ‘success’.
