Wonder who came up with the winning teams against Chelsea and West Ham? Who left out the ineffective Perisic and Son? I just know that Conte was in Italy at the time.

I had the Mickey taken because I said the team looked happier without him there - tell me that you didn’t see players grimacing as they stopped in promising positions last night and passed the ball backwards. Tell me that in every still photo of Conte on the touchline he isn’t appearing to be gesturing for someone to stop or get back into position. The Spurs record goal scorer was feeding off scraps, it’s not dignified, it is embarrassing.

I sound like I’m a Conte hater but I’m not, I think he turned us around last season and that we looked decent. I just think he has run out of ideas and is allowing his stubbornness not to change things, and not to use some signings, to allow us to roll backwards. I think we need an immediate change if we want to stop the damage from becoming irredeemable.

We took the piss because it was an opinion/assertion that you were presenting as fact. You also conveniently miss out that for the Sheff Utd and Wolves games, Conte wasn't here. Did the players look "freer" in those games too?

Think we were helped by the fact WH and Chelsea were both in worse shape than us.

I mean for the first 45 of both those games we weren't exactly playing free-flowing football were we?

He turned him down. We were willing to pay.
Gil could've played regularly here if we had a manager who knew the meaning of the word "rotation".
He personally called Richarlison and asked him to come. And if he's only a back up to Kane and not Son then spaffing £60m on that is even more brain dead than it looks.

Any other excuses for him that we need to try?
Not excuses for him - I just don't think he has had either long enough or enough of the players he wants. I posted months ago that this squad is currently better suited to 4-3-3 or even 4-2-3-1 , but Conte has a system that has proven successful for him and he wants o build a squad / team that can excel in that system because he believes it will result in a better foundation for the long term as well as trophies.

I don't believe we are seeing Conte's ideas / system executed in the way he wants and I believe much of that is down to the players he has and the indifferent form that some of them have shown this season. If Kulusevski and Son were having seasons like they did last year, then I think were are comfortably top 4 at present.

He said last night he cannot miracle a win. Sure he could change the system, but it has worked for him up til now so I don't get why he would be expected to produce results without all the tools required.

Captain Black refused to forgo his principles at Woolwich when most of the fans were calling for his head. He has gradually built a team that is competing for the title by adding two or three regular starters each year. He joined them in December 2019 and 26 games into the following season they were 10th. There is a lesson there we might do well to heed.

Btw, I have lost all my respect for Antonio Conte as a man and person. He’s scum to me.
Considering what he has gone through on a personal level, that is pretty harsh. As a football manager/head coach sure I get it, but as a human being who has lost a few close friends out of nowhere? Nah can't get on board with that.

My argument isn’t that we shouldn’t have brought Danjuma on at all, it’s that we had no choice but to bring on Sanchez to replace Romero and not another attacker instead. We needed 2 CB’s to cover seems as Davies and Porro were pushed up to put crosses in and overload the wings.
Here’s an idea. We could have moved Davies to CB (his passing and crossing had been beyond atrocious all evening so pushing him up was a waste of time anyway) then put Danjuma on the left to get those crosses in. Sure we might concede but that doesn’t matter. If we could make a sub that made it 20% more likely we would score but 50% more likely they would it would still have been worth doing. 0-0 was worth nothing to us

No amount of ‘what ifs’ can help. If we had got a result last night we’d be delaying the inevitable. The only positive we can take is we can start addressing our problems today.

Not that we appear to be doing so.

When I went to see thfc women against man united women recently we lost the game but all the women put in a shift and put the men’s team to shame.

Could we sack Conte and pay him off but leave the back room team in place and see how many of them walk with Conte? Then bring in a new manager who brings in his team in the summer. I am guessing as a bare minimum Contes brother and Stellini would walk.

There is a big issue we have had for some time under Levy. We jump between a director where we bring players in and start to shape up well. Then we sack off the system and get a Redknapp or a Poch who take control. They do well for a few years with the players they inherit but the squad starts to come apart again. I would predict that Paratici and Conte go and Poch returns to develop the players Paratici brought in. He'll do well for a few years tops and then the squad will start to come apart again. We need to stick to the system but rather than Paratici get someone whose philosophy aligns with ours (attacking dynamic football). Our DNA does not stand for Do Not Attack but Paratici and Conte set up this way. They're not the right fit for us.

I can see him.ending up at Newcastle if / when they qualify for the CL, being bought the players he wants - because they'll spend - and winning the PL again

It is the Spurs way
