He’s said nothing todsy that this forum hasn’t said for weeks/months.
players are shit and the board are useless.
he has some misgivings, but it’s just like reading a post on here.
I make him right on everything he said and it will never change regardless of who’s manager.

The most telling part was when he was asked what changed between last season and now. Seemed clueless and then just blamed the mentality of the club.

Maybe more time on the training ground with him and that intense pre season combined with his struggles prepping for more than one game a week is a better indicator of what has gone wrong.

Cos the squad certainly improved from last season to now (bar Son's form).
Can say what you like about Conte but he's bang on regarding the club. It's not about winning for them it's about running at an optimal business level.

I have 25 pages of this thread to read (god help me) and not sure what the general consensus is but, in my unimportant opinion, he's fairly spot on.

I don't like his football, his intransigence annoys me, I expected better than this "club signing" bullshit and the seeming inability to change games (bar a notable few).

But, we can beat City almost every time so his football might have merit.

The players can raise their game, put in a shift etc when they wish to impress but can't beat Sheffield Utd"s B side?

Professionals do their job every time, not when they can be arsed. Lads who profess to care about the club shouldnt be putting in the odd shift. Shouldn't be swanning around the pitch flattering to deceive. Do we not pay them enough to perform, no matter whether the manager is willing to commit or not? Just because he's not willing for whatever reason, does that give them a free pass to phone it in?

For me, the players have too much power and they are backed by the chairman who sits and has breakfast with them every morning like a fan who's door is always open for stories or autographs.

The culture at the club is the issue here. If the manager is working them too hard or saying stuff that upsets their fragile sensibilities then go to our friend Daniel. We'll show him. Easier and cheaper sack the manager than half the squad. As long as we're close to winning something sure tis grand.

Poch almost cracked it but didn't. Plucky losers Spurs. Fuck that.

The culture in any organisation starts at the top. Not in the middle or the bottom.

I'll always be thankful to Daniel Levy for what he's done for the club from an infrastructure perspective but the football and the chance of winning something is what keeps the fans coming back.

We're a football club. It's why we turned over 444m last year. It's why we're worth circa 2 to 3 billion. Because we play football and are supposed to entertain our fans and give them something to dream about.

So we lose 100m on player trading. So fucking what.

As a club Football is our raison d'etre. Players are our stock in trade. We're supposed to lose money on players. It's part of what you do to be successful. If you want to be successful that is.

Thanks for sharing… obvs a given (now) he’s gone. Who’s coming in tho?!
Perfect timing. Kompany sacked and straight in at Tottenham with a 7 year contract with talk of a project

Unfortunately there is no project Levy on the horizon

I'd rather Conte be successful and attack the problems with our ownership, but one of the two is better than neither.

It's not just "talking shit" about Levy, it's a laser-guided criticism that is right on the money. If Conte had whinged about Levy not getting him a birthday cake I'd have called him a prick. But this isn't that. What Conte said is 100% valid and highlights an issue that goes way beyond his tenure.

Sorry but he has a team that can and should beat the likes of Sheffield United, Milan and Southampton. Levy and Co have him these tools - they aren't perfect, not saying we should expect a title yet, but the problem is on the field and training ground, imo.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he gets sacked tonight not because of results but just in case this is the start of him really losing it in press conferences. The board won’t want to be called out publicly and criticised. They’ll give it to Mason who won’t say anything and then employ an attacking manager in the summer to distract everyone. Then we’ll do all this again in 24 months.

The irony is, what’s he’s saying is true. There’s a lot more to it including things of his own making but what he is saying about the club is correct and we all know it.

A perfect example:

top 5 clubs linked with Jude Bellingham and we didn’t even sniff around at all. Instead we go for the knock off wicks version Jobe!

fucking hell, it's actually worse when you see him say it.. full meltdown. Can't argue against it, though.
The true Conte finally emerges. Looks like he has been hiding and covering so much for the club and only the club has allowed him to say. Imagine the frustration and difficulty in keeping all these in.
