One thing I've taken from all this is that people need to stop comparing being a football manager of a premier league club, managing players who earn stupid amounts of money to being a manager down at the local McDonald's 😂

Think my local McDonald's serve Burgers, they don't play football in there :cautious:

Soggy brown McDonald's bags are more dependable than our defence under Conte.

I think we should allow him a clean slate. Last time he was probably thrown in at the dep end, and was learning on the job. This time he's had a couple of years to reflect on what happened previously and to learn from that experience. He's obviously not who you'd choose to be in charge of the team at this stage of the season, but I think most of the players will know that he'll put the club first in any decisions that he makes.
top 4 is on the line, not sure its the time to give someone a clean slate

Yep, you can be asshole leader at McDonald's, but not on business where individuals are the main assets.

PEH: "But I think he has to elaborate on how he feels before you as a player can start measuring and weighing."

"If that's how he sees it, then you have to be a little more precise in order for you as a player to take it to heart."
Hjoberg could do with looking at himself rather than calling out his manager. He’s been a constant in this shit show.

The key difference is the people at McDonald's need managing to be effective at their jobs, while the manager doesn't get paid that much. You can't go out and poach the best burger flippers, floor sweepers and cashiers, thanks to an old boys network of scouts who get paid to visit other restaurants for a living.

Again it depends what he meant by "selfish". The direct English interpretation of that may well have been different to what he meant. It wouldn't be the first time he's said something like this and clarified later that he meant something different. It may well be just the closest word he knew in English for what he really meant.

Or he may just be using … “English is my second language and that’s not what I meant” as an excuse when he rants and raves and says things that are unprofessional.

He said Selfish. He’s English is very good - and not at all new to him.

We can only take that he means Selfish.

anything else is just making excuses for him.

Sorry. But disagree. He’s been motm numerous times this season. He may not be to everyone’s taste, but I believe he gives his all most games.

I'll let this thread get back on topic mainly as I can't be arsed repeating the same things over and over, some fans will defend ENIC no matter what they do and how obvious their failures and motivations, I'll hear about leeds, training ground etc until I hit the grave, carry on...
Off topic sorry, but is there any chance you can change/shorten the bit under your name as it is so long it fucks the formatting on mobile 😆

He went on to say the players were “playing for themselves” and not as a team. I’d say he’s mastered that part of Duolingo.

Just wait until Conte gets his hands on the guy who’s been starting Hojberg as much as possible all season.
If only we had some talented young midfielders or even gone out in the summer and bought arguably the best CM in the league outside the big 6 to give Conte some alternative to starting Hojbjerg 3 games a week since August…

I'm assuming we'd start thinking about it in June, sound out a few option in July, slowly miss out on our top 5 choices, avoid having to sign any new players, completely miss pre-season, start with Mason as coach for the season and appoint our 8th choice in September.
Nailed it 😂👏
