Any heading practice i ever had as a kid, either at school or for my local teams in hindsight it was never about teaching technique or anything of value. It was always just a masochistic exercise on behalf of the coaches and little more than hoofing a rock hard ball at kids heads tp see if they dared flinch in front of their team mates.

As someone else pointed out, there is perhaps a reason why technically we lagged so far behind other countries when we play kids on full size pitches and teach them crap like how to header a ball twice the size of their head from day one. Keep it on the floor and learn some useful skills.
