A backup striker that actually can score goals? yes please. He also has tons of experience and doesn't mind sitting on the bench. If we get someone with pace in addition to this i'm all for it.

SSN suggesting he should go to Chelsea, but they seem to be forgetting that Morata isn't their only striker.
They currently have Batshuayi as their #2 striker and there's no rumours of him being moved on.
Llorente more likely to get game time as back-up for Kane in my opinion.

I think we could do with a player like this, he is the type to come on and get you a goal when you need it. Gives us good options that I just don't see with Jansen.

Makes no sense - we dont put in enough crosses - plus he is always injured
yes we do, i think what you mean is we don't hoof the ball up the pitch. Also he played 28 games last year, how is that always injured.

Please read my post on the 3rd page of this thread. I lay out why Pochettino wants him in detailed terms. If you're still skeptical, then fair play. But I suspect it might sway you a bit.

I get the points you mention, but he's gonna be a bit part player right? How many of those multitudes of corners and set pieces will he be on for? How much longer does he have in his legs? He may have played in a high press in 11-12, but that was 6 years ago when he was 26. He's 32 now, can he really do that? And how long for?

I don't doubt for the short term he'd be a useful addition to the squad, but I'm just not sure it makes long term sense.

33 games played last season, that's some going for an always injured player.
Just to be pedantic it was 35 in all comps and 38 the season before. Which backs your point up even more.

I don't understand why someone would think I don't want him so I will make some shit up even though anyone can Google it and see that I've made it up

There are actually strong indicators linking him with a loan move away to Everton if Chelsea land Llorente. Even Hazard yesterday talked about the need for Batshuayi to get regular playing time to develop. Lille, who are now managed by Bielsa, are also really interested in him. Batshuayi simply isn't an all-around footballer yet and has stagnated a bit and needs 90 minutes a week to develop like Lukaku was getting at the same age.

It doesn't make long term sense, you're right, but then I don't see it being a long term signing.

He is a very good player and would be a great addition to the squad imo. I'm all for it.

I'm not sure if he's much of a leader, but we need that older head to carry us through rough patches and see out trickier games.
