So I didn't realise that Wolves under Nuno in last two seasons were bottom two for running. That stat of us being bottom when it comes to running now makes sense.

Paratici needs to go as well for advecting Nunos appointment! After trying to appoint Guttoso! He is just as bad as Nuno. Maybe a good scout but woeful DOF.

And some on here defend him and think giving him time is the answer, Jesus wept.
It's not so much about that, I think the message may be quite bad to send out if we fired him now. Who would want to work under this regime if you get only 6 games?

Something needs to change, no doubt about it.

I do wonder who is going to do the firing here. It should be Paratici, it's his hire. But is Paratici going to fire a man he promised he would be attack minded to Levy? Levy would rightly question his judgement (not like Levy's is any better).

If it's Levy, does he fire Paratici too? He actually made some very good signings, perhaps that's worth persisting with?

Does Levy take control and say find me some attack minded coaches and I'll make the final call?

It's a mess.
At least when you hire a DOF who matches your ideals, there's no blurriness as you know he's going to make decisions based upon that and not try to shoehorn coaches into roles they are not adjusted too. You can also trust him to understand when things are not going right because he's going to be looking for certain coaching aspects.

I do hope Paratici actually goes to Levy and admits he made a mistake and that he'll work on a better list for future because that may actually give him a second chance to get it right. But if he sits there and maintains Nuno is the right man he just needs more time, well, Levy is going to get more and more concerned he's not got the right man alongside him.

Having said that, Paratici can only do so much if Levy continually applies limitations. If Paratici turned around and said "Let me get, Conte. I know how to deal with him and I will change our fortunes around" then Levy has to listen and seriously consider it because our ideal options are very thin on the ground.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it in my life on a football pitch at the top level.

When I watched it live, I thought it looked at times like a 4-1-5 but thought I was being ridiculous....

That game plan is up there with Jose parking the bus against Nuno's Wolves after 1 min 1-0 up.

The situation has worsened.
Star player doesnt want to be at the club Most expensive player is a mis fit New manager has no pre season Early Internationals have major disruption due to Covid rules Many injuries to name a few

New

The tide I mentioned I was not in total agreement with is the citicism and ditching of NES simply because he has had enough time with the squad Call for his head and criticise the way he plays after a reasonable number of games Some wanted him gone before a ball was kicked

I dont accept broad agreement People are disappointed but some have given no chance. As I said give him some games And who are you going to get now who will trurn the tide now It takes time

He kept a Wolves side in the prem, remember the were recently promoted Criticism came his way there when the team was shorn of its best players. They had a successful run in the EL with arguably lesser quality players than we have Wolves played to a pattern and I would contend players played for him No stats moving on every year. A previous club Valencia were decent under his stewardship

I accept he is not one of the elite managers (which incidentally I wanted so I'm not trying to promote my candidate) but we arent getting that

The cards are stacked against him and as I said to another poster if your boss wanted you out of a job after such a short time you would be questioning why

The nature of these boards is to highlight extremes and it doesnt represent sanity or common sense as thats too boring for the posters
Yes, but I asked you, in essence, what it was that Nuno has that you feel makes him the person to effect the fundamental shift that the club as a whole needs. You then rattled off selected highlights of his CV.

We're all quite aware of his past. And more to the point, there's nothing in it to suggest he's equipped to do anything but continue the atrocious series of results we've seen both under his tenure and over the last three years.

I asked you to explain what it was about him that sets him apart from any other managerial candidate and you told me he's managed Wolves and Valencia. Well, to put it bluntly, so what? He managed to take Wolves to the EL semi-final? I'm sure it didn't escape your notice that we got the Champions League Final a few years ago - didn't stop Poch from the sack, did it?

Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Inter were all pretty decent under Mourinho too - didn't stop him from being given his marching orders, did it?

Does Nuno have experience of managing a giant club with a seriously flawed squad? Does he have experience of navigating the waters around a chairman with his head stuck firmly up his spreadsheets, perhaps? Does he have a history of winning significant trophies? Does he have experience of managing one of the three most valuable players in world, perchance?

If you'd told me of an unknown period of his managerial career (Nuno: The Early Years!) wherein he had similar experiences, then maybe I'd have given some credence to your viewpoint. But you haven't. You've just said he's a moderately successful manager of relatively smaller clubs. Again, how does that make him different to any of a dozen other candidates and how does it make those who want him out wrong?

I have to add you then did yourself even fewer favours by essentially insulting everyone who doesn't subscribe to your way of thinking.

Not a good position to work from, I think.

It seems there might be a bit of a shift towards recognising that a big part of the club’s problems these last few years emanate from the chairman. I’ve seen a few posts along the lines of ‘yeah but we can’t sack him or make him sell’.

That is true to an extent. However, fan pressure finally convinced Sugar to sell up when he didn’t want to and it’s possible that the same kind of thing might at least either bring down the price ENIC would be willing to accept (£3.5bn is ridiculous, but when you want £40m for Winks…) or convince the board that Levy needs to step aside and a new chairman found. Combine that with not buying tickets, merchandise or spending on the club and the fans can certainly bring pressure to bear that might help encourage change. It’s not as though fans have never been able to drive change before.

It may achieve nothing, but it’s more constructive than just accepting misery with a shrug. If we tolerate this, then we’re also to blame for it (and your children will be next).

Largely agree, but with the bolded bit, do you think you'd play your best football if you had upwards of 50,000 people moaning and groaning at every misplaced pass?

In contrast to the +50,000 Arsenal fans laughing in mocking derision at just about everything our players tried to do yesterday - they thought Christmas had come early with the turkeys running around in white shirts.

Utter humiliation.

Calling him a Champions League winner is technically correct although its a bit like saying I'm a brilliant cook because I sometimes take the lid of the pan when the peas are bubbling over. I mean, I'm there but my contribution is mostly just "Mmmm, that looks nice."

We've given them a nice little booster to their season and outlook.

We should have spent the first half being compact and tight, allow their fans to get restless. Then hit them in the second half.

Nuno's Wolves did that in three visits to the Emirates yet he didn't apply the same method here, it's mental
