If you want to take a positive slant. We are 8th and 2pts off top 4 and 2pts off 2pts a game which will get you top 4 most likely. We’ve played City Chelsea Arsenal. We’ve had injuries and all the quarantine issues and our prolific striker hasn’t scored a goal yet. You’d hope our points per game should only get better from here.

Personally I think that's very concerning. Nothing good about the club got leaked so many times now. Was there no memo sent down to all staffs and players with regards to confidential information or any non-disclosure practice?
Let's be honest if you are the sort of person that needs a memo telling you not to go snaking to the press, you are also probably going to completely ignore it.

Yep, good to be positive. If it wasn't for the international break and our horrendous fixture list coming up, I would be too.
The next month is going to be a massive test for our players and also Nuno as he has to juggle three competitions with one hand tied behind his back by our international commitments

On the plus side, there are reports that Harry Winks is leaving in January...

I'm not convinced that our upcoming fixture list is as bad as is being made out on here, to be fair.

17/10 - Newcastle (A)
21/10 - Vitesse (A)
24/10 - West Ham (A)
27/10 - Burnley (A)(EFL Cup)
30/10 - Man Utd (H)

04/11 - Vitesse (H)
07/11 - Everton (A)
21/11 - Leeds (H)
25/11 - NS Mura (A)
28/11 - Burnley (A)

01/12 - Brentford (H)
04/12 - Norwich (H)
09/12 - Rennes (H)
11/12 - Brighton (A)
14/12 - Leicester (A)
18/12 - Liverpool (H)
26/12 - Crystal Palace (H)
28/12 - Southampton (A)

That's what we're doing for the rest of this year.

Sure, we've got a lot of away fixtures in October, but Vitesse is less of a journey than Newcastle, and West Ham are down the road, so we shouldn't be particularly fatigued from those.

We've arguably only got tricky fixtures back-to-back in the PL twice, too - United/Everton in 4 weeks' time, and Leicester/Liverpool just before Christmas.

We also have a lovely run against some absolute cackers from November 21st to December 11th.

Yeah I do think this is a vital point.

I'm under no illusions that we'll get top 4 as we're still massive outsiders, but when you take into account our fixtures we're certainly not much worse off at this stage than we have been in previous seasons, including some of the Poch ones.

We regularly lose away at Arsenal and most teams will lose at home to Chelsea this season. The only result (not performance) that's a real shitter is the Palace one we never usually lose to them. However, we've lost away at Wolves in recent seasons so our win there about balances that out.

I suppose the point I'm making is that, while some of our performances have been diabolical and our wins haven't been too impressive, we're actually doing fine in terms of points. Given how bad we've been at times, we could easily be sat here on 6/7 points right now, so we should actually be thankful that we're on 12 as it really gives us a base to build on.

If we can sort out our best 11 and start putting some performances together this season doesn't have to be a write off as I think we've not really got out of 2nd gear so far and good players like Royal and Romero are only just getting into the team, while Kane hasn't got going at all yet. Our ceiling is much higher than our performances have shown and, while I don't think Nuno is the right manager long term, he is still capable of improving us a lot more.

Fair enough, each to their own. I think October is horrendous and may well derail our season. A real possibility that November will see us outside the European lge placings. Also out of the League Cup, our best hope of a trophy, and struggling to top our ECL group.

This brings the spectre of two extra games to get through to the knockouts. We'll see how it goes, I think it will be the making or breaking of Nuno as our manager this season.

And, tbf, the palace game was not going to bad until the red card. Obviously disappointing the way we folded in that game but with the red card and the injuries it was understandable to a degree.

If you had to choose between Gallas and Woodgate, two true Tottenham legends, who would you choose and why?

I'm talking about this country and our sports not American sports where they have always had violence. Look at our other sports and you wont find the level of hatred for players and teams like you do for football in this country. So I think what you say is rubbish by defending the mindless idiots that use social media to attack and spill out hatred just because their team got beat or an apposing player scored a great goal against them. Fortunately it's a minority but it's growing because it's so easy to do.
First off, you're talking from a position of utter ignorance. There's plenty of hatred in other sports too.

Second, football isn't a strictly English pasttime, so the idea that restricting you analysis to this country alone or to British sports alone is idiotic.

Third, can you point to precisely where I've 'defended' those you describe as 'mindless idiots'?

Maybe the mindlessness is a little closer to home, perchance?

I think the ignorance is yours in your defence of the obvious. Seems like I've hit a nerve.

I’m not really thinking about top 4 but if United were to have a dodgy season and manager change which isn’t inconceivable it’s not out the question imo. We are 2pts off them and they’ve yet to play any of the traditional big 6. Now they have got a horrendous fixture run October/November. Tbh if we aren’t above them by end November I’d actually be a bit disappointed and then you’re almost at half way. Besides us I can’t currently see anyone else staking an obvious claim, yeah there’s quite a few you could say maybe. But we’ve just as good a chance as any especially if Kane gets going.
