I just don't see who comes in now

Potter / Ten Hag - I can't see coming now.

Conte - if we have failed to get in summer - what's going to change now - levy still the same person

Parker - leave a new team after just a few months - again can't see it.

To me it will be mason again, or else Eddie Howe to the end of the season...again better than the dross that's been served up so far but I won't expect a massive improvement.

Glad to hear the end is near for Nuno. Yesterday was the final knock out blow to his tenure here. He had the look of a man who knows his time is up. I reckon he wants to go too. Doesn’t look like he’s enjoying it one bit, he can’t be.

It’s amazing that the club wasted a whole summer and ended up with Nuno. What a wasted opportunity, the club had a chance to really kick off a new project and instead went with Nuno. I can only imagine he was hired because he was cheap and available but then what does it say for us appointing a successor?

I’d actually rather we hired Nuno because we wanted him genuinely, because the alternatives doesn’t bare thinking about. Which is that top coaches like Potter and ETH didn’t want us. I sincerely hope we can attract someone good otherwise we are screwed.
He was brought in simply due to the club not wishing to payout any compensation.
But the irony of all this is that it has cost us in the long run not just financially but from a sporting POV, but then when was ENIC ever really worried about the sporting side.

As someone who consistently gets behind those in charge, I just cannot see how this ends any other way than us finding someone new. Id just really like to start enjoying watching us play again.

Just got off the phone to a good contact. Says it's just a matter of time now.

Let's hope there's more of a plan than last time.
The thing is, “time” could be within in the hour. Or could be 2 years. ….. let’s hope it’s sooner. For the sake of Nuno’s mental health let alone anything else.

Who do you suggest. Took us 10 wks to get Nuno.
Could always go back to Fonseca.
The club has to be brave here which was the opposite of how they were in the summer.
They need to put their money where their mouth is otherwise what was the point of the stadium upheaval for this shit

It’s obvious he’s the wrong guy for us as even with the losses early on for Poch you could see what he was trying to implement, whereas it’s difficult to see any cohesive game plan under Nuno.

The time to act is now as that may give us some options to recruit players in January, even though that is traditionally a difficult market.

Juan De Ramos says hi.
8 games and 2 points as Harry Redknapp would say. And Juande had won the league cup the previous season.
Pierre sounded well pissed off in interview after game last night.
I don’t care about the past mate. It’s done. I care about the here and now.

???

How can some people say Conte would be wrong for us.

He’s exactly the manager we need to weed out the under performers who have been here for far too long.

Ppl saying he's wrong are probably ENIC accounts, as he would demand backing and is not afraid to stir the pot. A Levy nightmare right there.

I saw that. Pierre needs to look hard at himself. Robbie Savage with short back and sides. Drives me mad.

Gallardo is the one for me, he could be similar to nagalesmann ie in 1/2 years he’ll be way out of our league, he’d be a big risk but I think that is what’s needed. Plus he’ll be free (no buyout anyway) from his contract.
that’s if he wants to come

The way to get around that would be that Conte doesn't deal with Levy, he deals with Paratici.

Yes, you'd still end up in scenarios where Levy says No to demands but he won't be dealing with him directly and Paratici does know Conte so knows his buttons.

I just don't think Levy will give paratici the budget for Conte to operate in

Plus fuck Kane, he's now part of the problem. Getting a manager in to make him happy is the wrong way to go. If he's not onboard with a project manager he can go.
I don’t think anyone ever really believed Nuno was a project manager did they? I know the fanbase did their best to get behind him initially but in our hearts of hearts we all knew it was doomed.

Not excusing it in anyway, but you can see why playing under him doesn’t exactly instil confidence.

If we could see it, sure as hell the players could.

I can imagine the dressing room response when he was appointed ‘F**kin Nuno?!’

I agree and that's why people are worried. It'd work if he had decent backing, it's worth nothing that at Chelsea and Inter he didn't get crazy backing, he got enough but they didn't need to pump 200m plus at it, certainly not United or City levels.

The problem is we've already started going down the rebuild with youth approach. Gil, Gollini and Sarr are all going to be project types.

Do we abandon that? Do those players get game time?

I suppose Vlahovic, Kessie and others we've been linked to are probably less of a project type.

Mason had Bale to get him out of a hole. And a couple of games towards the end of last season were horrible.
A couple of games we were also pretty good. One notable game against Wolves where we battered them and peppered their goal with 25 shots. Christ their manager must’ve been shite… :cautious:
