“A further coaching update will follow in due course.”

?
They won't want to repeat past mistakes with a holding period for 6 months compounded with continued uncertainty as Ryan Mason struggles along.

So i expect we will see that world class Brazilian coach Ryano Masonalldiho appointed for six months instead.

At least there are some positives from our loss to United

- Nunoball is over

- United is stuck with Ole for a while more

- if we get Conte, United have one less top coaching option to pick from

I want to thank Nuno.

He has done what nobody else could and unified the fan base. For years we've been split in the great debate, who has been our worst manager of the PL era? Francis? Gross? Graham? Santini? AVB? Sherwood? Mourinho? There were strong arguments for them all, but after managing to get sacked after less time into his first PL season than we actually spent looking for him as a manager - having convincingly lost every London derby, lost 3-0 on four separate occasions including two at home, multiple games where we failed to even get a decent effort on goal and failed to score in more halves of football IN ALL COMPETITIONS than we actually managed to score in - we as fans can finally come together and unify behind a single agreed candidate.

Thank you Nuno.

So glad he's gone. He really had no idea how to set us up aside from the one game against City. We are aided of course by the forcefield that surrounds our goal in the new stadium when city come to play us.

The players clearly didn't buy in to what he was selling with the obvious lack of visible effort and the manner in which we would fold to 3 goal defeats after going a goal down.

Having said this - I don't dislike Nuno in the same way I came to resent some of our other managers. Some like Graham or AVB clearly had a very different philosophy of where they wanted to take Tottenham to what I wanted. Some like Sherwood and Mourinho used to just grind my gears as individuals. Nuno I just feel was completely out of his depth. He had some good achievements with Wolves but upon closer inspection he should never have passed a job interview successfully and even though I was willing to give him a chance after the City game as I'm sure most of the players were, it became clearer with every passing game that this wasn't going to work out.

Am sure he'll be back in management sooner or later. And if you've got a bit of spare cash around and looking to make an investment, wait until the first game he faces against Tottenham and bet on him beating us, as that's as guaranteed an easy payout as you're ever going to see.

Had to go but feel a bit sorry for him - walked into a job he knew he was 6th (at best) choice for, had to deal with the Kane saga (which he did pretty well to be fair), had to deal with a fanbase who was promised free flowing football and didn't have the same grace of an empty stadium that Mourinho had.

Ultimately, he was way out of his depth but wish him well.

Board have to get this right now, really feels like its Conte or bust doesn't it?

I'm glad Nuno has gone, it's been abysmal these past weeks. I will say the match against Manchester City on the opening day was the best match I've been to for a long time and it was a magnificent day out. Good luck Nuno, you're a good guy that's plain to see, have a good life.

I feel for Nuno on a human level, he has come into a club that has had any confidence wiped from it in the last x months with the star player having had his head turned, amongst other things. None of that was his fault. He seems like a decent and nice chap.

It would appear that he was not the right person to be able to turn it around, gel a number of new signings and squad refresh. He couldnt get a style/flow from the first 11 and struggled, like others before have, to get the 2nd XI to push the first XI in the conference league games.

Never good to see a manager lose his job as I'm sure he came in wanting to be successful like we all wanted him to be successful cos that means Spurs are successful. Alas, not to be and it was better to make a change as he wasnt showing any ideas that he was going to be able to change things or get the players creating a tune.

If Conte is joining he must have been given some iron clad assurances.

Guessing here buf Joe Lewis famly involved then that’s where the asurances would come from. If thats the case Levy must also have had a hot piece of sort your shit out shoved up his arse

You’d hope so as Levy has sabotaged us far too much in recent years.

Shouldn't have been offered the job

Conte if its him
will make demands
and seek assurances
but he won't mess about.

He's my penny's worth....

Nuno seems to be getting a hell of a lot of flak and criticism for the way we have been playing and he's been sacked after 10 league games. Having put up very gracefully with a summer of bullshit including Kane wanting to leave, Ndombele wanting out, not getting some players until late in the window. He dealt with having a silly injury list and having players "lost" to international breaks and covid restrictions.

Nuno gave every player in the squad a fair crack at the whip and many of them let him down big time. He set up the team to win (whilst being unattractive) and the fans complained, he changed the team to be more attacking and the performances improved but some of the results didnt (and the fans still complained). He gave opportunities to Scarlett, Nile John and other youth products.

He took a team that has been performing utter shite and ineffective under Poch's final months, utter shite and ineffective under Jose. and after 3 months of working with most of the players (likely less time with some of the others) the board and the fans have decided thats enough time to completely change the direction of this team performances and mentality despite several senior players calling out some of the squad over the last 18 months.

With all things being considered and I feel utterly disgusted by the way the club and the fans have treated Nuno. He never said a bad word of any player or the clubs conduct. He set up the team selection (most of the time) the same way many of us on here would and yet he still got blasted by fans for team selection (can anyone tell me they would have picked a different team bar Ndombele against United?). Fans never took to him as we had threads for Nuno out from day one.

I used to look at clubs like Chelsea and Watford that seemed to change their managers every season (whether they were successful or not) and think, I'm glad we're not like that and we give managers a bit of a chance.

We're that club
