As soon as I saw Forster in the line-up my confidence disappeared.

Has he ever made a qualified save for us? Honestly I can't remember.

I thought he did pretty well for us last season tbh.

9 changes…. He’s done what every other previous manager has done and often been blasted for. Maybe we’ll be fine because of the football we play now but that’s a risk and if we do lose will he be blasted for not taking a cup seriously?

I do still think we’ll win though, especially with that bench.

Top 4 has always been the priority for this board why would it change now?

Still a very strong team, we have good depth this year, especially in the midfield.

I'd expect our starters (Maddison, Son, Bissouma, Sarr, Udogie) to still get 25-30 minutes unless the game is out of sight.

We've had good depth before and made changes before in cups... but our attitude has very often been awful and timid... hopefully Ange can change that.

Not for all of us it hasn't.

Have to wonder if you are making so many changes why not go the whole hog and change them all? Richarlison I guess needs to play himself into some confidence but not so with Van de Ven so maybe it is actually a huge signal that we have no backup for him.

Richarlison - we don't have a back-up in yet - other than Scarlett - who, hopefully gets in today.

VdV - I think we actually needed his pace in this game.


Again - Ange has said he is trying to win here. So he is picking a team that he thinks will bring the right attributes to get a win.

And we have no back up with the pace of MVDV.

100% this. Look at the FA cup last year. Easy to blame the team selection, but Sheffield also put out a weakened side, just right from the off they showed more hunger.

All through pre season I got a sense there is much more togetherness at the club and positivity. Really hope we see the same here today. For the likes of Hojbjerg, Skipp, Solomon, Lo Celso and Perisic, really good opportunity to show what they can do. I also think Emerson is not far behind Porro so a good performance today will be a good selection headache for Ange going forward.
